@Franko,

:)

>>when I could have been doing something useful like ringing up Virgin Broadband to tell them their service is crap

So true, I have been with them for over ten years and their customer service sucks!

Shame you can't beat cable for broadband, ADSL is poo. This is the only reason I am still stuck with them. Their mobile phones are worse than their customer service which it makes it really bad.

The other thing is that they have millions of special-cool offers for new customers and for the veterans, the ones who have paid them lots and lots of money during all these years of loyal attachment, bugger all! :)

Regarding gardening...that is crap too. Hate it! I enjoy sitting in the garden, looking at the lovely plants and flowers and cutting the grass once in a while but proper gardening is hard work. ;)

Your account: is cursed man! :)

@ The Daddy

Sky's the friggin same been with them since the late 90's (cost me nearly a grand a year for their poxy service) and like you say, new customers get all the perks while old loyal customers get shafted... :madashell:

Trouble is Virgin is even worse than Sky so you don't have much of a choice really (well you do but you know what I mean). I just call sky once a year to tell them I'm leaving to go to Virgin and they usually give you 3 months free or reduce the prices for a while just to keep you (got six months free broadband back in April when I told them I was leaving), but at the end of the day the buggers have you by the short'n'curlies as they know all these companies shaft their customers and you've got nowhere else to go...

Whomever invented gardening must've been a PC user as it's as boring as using a PC and just about as brain numbing not to mention hard word maintaining the ruddy thing, only thing I found the back garden useful for was giving the ex-wife a nice wee resting place... ;)

PS: Think they've managed to drive a stake through me account now and got some witch doctors to lift the curse, it's been funning fine now for almost four hours... :)

You gotta learn to abuse these people more. I didn't pay my sky bill for 3 months and they phoned me up telling me I owed them cash. I told them (in a depressed tone that would make any actor proud) that I would have to close my account as I couldn't afford to pay them back the cash. They wiped the slate clean and put me on a basic package with a stack of free channels for a couple of months (great for me as it was coming up to christmas) just to keep my account. Suckers.

@ Tripitaka

Nice... ;)

It aint abuse anyway, the way I see it is, they charge me a grand a year just so I can watch about 24 channels that I enjoy out of over 600 or so... :(

When they let me pick and choose the channels I want and pay for just those then I'll stop erm... "fibbing" to them, but when they try and tell me "but you get a great deal for your money with all those wonderful channels we give you", aye right... almost 600 channels of pure **** that I have to pay for just to get a handful that I really want.. :madashell:

Well the day the give me that choice then that's the day I stop calling them up and telling them I'm leaving... :)

Doing what we do is not abuse or ripping them off, as they shaft us all year long and this is just a wee taste of revenge on the buggers... :)

Exactly. I tried with Virgin...I said: "Your service sucks I am leaving!" and they said: "Ok." So as you say we are pretty much screwed. All that **** about allowing companies to compete with each other to give the consumer better deals it's all a con. The companies agree prices amongst themselves, competition my arse!

Good news! I wonder who cursed you!

This forum should have a stickied name and shame thread for crappy service providers. Oh wait, I just found one, you can get to it by typing "list of service providers" into google.
Yup, they all suck.

However if it's an ISP your after, Zen internet has the best service record bar none. They use a one month rolling contract so your not tied in. They don't supply hardware however (how many of us need yet another router anyway, I've got six of them). The only catch is they are not the cheapest ..oh well, can't have it all.

We should all arrange a pre-set time and date to phone one of these companies so called help centres and rip the pee out of them with a list of exact same questions and problems (totally made up of course) just to piss the buggers off... :)

Mind you when you get put through to SKY's call centre in India or Pakistan it's you who usually end up peed off talking to some guy conveniently called Jock or Hamish who you can't understand and he can't understand you... ruddy foreign call centres... should be banned... banned I tell you... :madashell:
