Amy Winehouse dead
« on: July 24, 2011, 01:23:51 PM »
Seems like the singer Amy Winehouse has died from a drug overdose, never was a fan or even liked her music but it's still kinda sad that yet another popstar has died so young and all because of drugs... :(

Why so many people (rich, famous or poor & anonymous ) feel the need to  take drugs and cut their lives short is one thing I'll never understand, such a waste of life... :(

I don't think the problem is just drugs. Many people take drugs, they eventually quit them or just die because of health problems or accidents, but they don't commit suicide. I think very often, and I dare to say majority of times it happens because the victims believe nobody really cares for them.

It is a pity the sellers of drug from London are going to weep for its loss, have lost its best client, but in its record company they must be of holidays, now they are going to sell its new disc easily.

Very true and nothing cynical in what you said... ;)

There is a simple solution to the "Drugs Problem" if the government & police can't see to be effective in getting rid of the drug dealers then deal with it at it's source... ie: the users... :)

The answer is really quite simple arrest & execute anyone who is a drug user thus eliminating the drug dealers customer base and so no users = no drug dealers... :)

Of course this would mean a drastic cull of the population in most parts of the world including MPs, Police, Judges, Lawers, Doctors, Nurses and any other profession you care to mention, but think of the benefits, it's a win win solution... :)

PS: and for those who claim they take illegal drugs for medicinal purposes, I say bollocks, I've known a number of people who claimed that and know for a fact they were nothing but liars... ;)

This guy did and even to this day no-one has a clue how he managed to con the social for 3 years solid with it... :madashell:

He started of by always moaning that his legs were kinda numb and he could do much for himself anymore, then it was his arms and then his speech (he was an alcoholic by the way). Anyway he got early retirement from Tarmac where I worked at the time and for about 2 years he had me and all his friends and our wives doing everything for him...

The thing that made everyone suspicious was how he somehow managed to make it to the pub 7 days week and as he got more drunk his speech improved and he could even manage to play pool without any problems...

He was finally caught by the DHSS when they took pictures of him fishing with some mates and larking about and actually helping two others who where with him on this fishing trip, lift another person up and throw him in the river for a laugh... :furious:

As far as we know he had to pay back 3 years worth of DLA & incapacity benefit along with a fine, they got him a job as a binman (which he still does to this very day, when sober that is) and as far as we know he is still paying off the fine and the money back... suffice to say after conning everyone he's not exactly welcome here anymore and thankfully moved to another part of town... ;)

I know cannabis is proven to be of medical value for certain medical conditions, but when you use it for "recreational" use then I'm happy to say that anyone who does so and it either ruins their life or leads them to harder drugs, I have no sympathy for them whatsoever... :)

It's quite simple... if it weren't for the users there would be no drug dealers... :)

The big difference is being a cigarette smoker it's...

A) Legal & fully endorsed by the government... :)

B) on each packet of tobacco I buy I pay 85% of the purchase price on TAX... :(

&

C) Smoking fags doesn't rot me brain, make me say wow man at the end of every sentence or make me jump off tall buildings thinking I can fly... :)

oh and...

D) Encourage and benefit scumbag drug dealers to get rich and ruin local communities... ;)

Marijuana is a natural herb, not a drug...

Like the government supported anti-depressants that you always hear about on TV. You know, the ones that lead to organ failure, zombification, death, or a more intense depression than they started with which often times drives them to suicide.

And you know, ever since America invaded Afganastan, Heroin shipments to the U.S. Have only increased. So much for homeland security, which by the way seems more focussed on the citizens than on what is coming in.

It's all a bunch of B.S. Propaganda.

As for celeb suicides, it's generally the hopelessness of the industry that drives them to it. They are slaves with no seeable way out. Trapped in a very strange world so far from home. Only psychotics like Lady Ga Ga, Madonna and the like are well adjusted to it, but those who have retained a sence of Little House on the Praire humanity either break down or get crushed...

Then there are those like Amy who got too caught up and did too much too fast.

Oh ya, Franko. Didn't you say you smoke something like three packs a day?

Well I hate to break it to you, but it is not the THC in marijuana that leads to brain cell damage. Rather it comes from the suffocating effects of the carbonmonoxide which is produced from the fire itself.

Considering that a cigarette smoker consumes a LOT more smoke than your general marijuana smoker, I'd say you are a lot more at risk of brain cell damage amongst forms of nasty side effects that come only from cigarette smoke, tar, and the chemicals addedinto cigarettes to make them burn slower. I won't even get into menthols.

Thankfully, in defense of marijuana, there are alternative methods to take it that do not involve burning it and therefore remove carbonmonoxide from the equation. Unfortunately for nicotine based narcotic addicts, chewing tabacco with still result in cancer of the mouth.

So all in all, as a friend, I advise you research what you put into your body, and seriously consider training your mind and body to adapt to moderation.

@ XDelsuion

Marijuana may be classed as a herb but in most societies it used as a recreational drug not something for cooking or garnishing meals... ;)

Celebs and their self inflicted drug induced suicides are hardly something to feel sorry for or have sympathy with, or putting it down to the industry that they work in, is sorry mate but that's nothing but BS. The pampered & luxury life they lead in said industry can hardly compare to a soldier sent overseas to fight and see the horrors of war in a foreign land, that's what you call being in a strange world so far from home... ;)

The things firemen, police, armed forces personnel,  medical & healthcare workers and  all others in similar dangerous & caring but beneficial professions to our society have to see and do, is far worse than anything any poncy & pampered celebrity or sportstar will ever be exposed to, so for me there is no sympathy for such people other than the sadness of what is usually a waste of a young life through self inflicted substance abuse... :(

I don't smoke packs of cigarettes but roll my own with tobacco, which doesn't contain quite the amount of chemicals that packaged cigarettes do, but still doesn't do my body or health any good and yes I know all about what goes into tobacco and all the nasty effects it has on the person using it... ;)

I defence of tobacco over marijuana, I would say tobacco has never led me to dabble in other even more dangerous and illicit drugs unlike marijuana whom of all the people I know who smoke it for a good 75% of them it has led to them stronger drugs and killed quite a number of them over the past 20 odd years in my life... :(

As for me and my smoking, well apart from the fact I genuinely enjoy smoking, I have no worries about dying from cancer or other health related problems as short of an accident, murder or catching some unexpected fatal illness, I already KNOW what is going to end my life and so do my doctors and there is sod all anyone in the medical profession can do to prevent it. I have even been told by my neurosurgeon (he would only say it off the record, because of professional ethics) not to bother to give up smoking if I enjoy it so much, as like I say it aint gonna kill me... :)
