Powerbook MOS
« on: July 24, 2011, 06:19:38 AM »
Waiting for MorphOS 2.8 I just got a Powerbook G4 1.67.
It's an amazing machine and Leopard runs very smooth. Almost feel like my quad core SL hackintosh! :)

Anyway, anyone has a good suggestion for an internal SSD for it?
PATA 64gb?

Just so you know, PowerBook support in MorphOS is still a ways off. Don't expect to see support for it in the next release, but do expect good things. :)

There are *always* a lot of good things in new MorphOS releases! :D

I have been a registered user since version 2.0, and I must say I have got *a lot* from that single license fee! MorphOS has come so far since then, so many new features, etc, all free of charge! Never regretted registering! :)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I'm absolutely in love with this hardware. Too bad it's not the high-res 1440x900 model.
I hope the new Sandy Bridge unibody ones are as good as this Aluminum PPC. I should get one at the end of the year as my main computer using it in dual head with a 23 IPS panel.

I know all the talk about the "never expect a release" MorphOS policy, but I can wait while having fun with leopard.
Anyway, anyone can suggest a good SSD option for it? - PATA

And, just to avoid creating a new post for Apple stuff, what's the best UAE option for OSX? Still E-UAE?

PATA 64gb?

Rgds,

IDE/PATA SSD's aren't too common, but of the few I've used - I have had luck with Transcend brand.  64GB are certainly far higher priced per GB than the 32 GB ones, still :/  I have a 32 GB IDE/PATA Transcend SSD in an old testbench AMD X2 rig that I've never had a lick of trouble with.

Not the cheapest, and can likely be found for cheaper elsewhere.  I've been using Patriot SATA SSD's lately, just threw one in my SAM 440ep box last weekend and love them thus far.  I use Intel SATA SSD's in my windoze pc's and recommend them wholeheartedly as well, but I am unsure if they sell IDE/PATA ones.

And what about those:

I also heard that it might be possible to use a SATA ssd with an adapter.
