help my amiga get a display
« on: July 22, 2011, 07:03:45 AM »
so i am short of a way to hook my amiga to a display currently.
Its a PAL A1200 and Im in the US.

Ive been eyeing an external scan doubler thingie I might shell out for after my old one died, but I wanted to see if anyone here has something they'd want to sell me for reasonably cheap

external scan doubler, a 1084 in good condition, a ntsc to pal converter, a monitor that has a video in or can sync low enough or whatever. Got something sitting around you don't use anymore?

I've found this on UK ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Domesday-System-RGB-Monitor-SCART-BBC-Input-/290588443181?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item43a86bc22d

He will ship worldwide.

Has a SCART input, and it will be PAL, so you can connect this to the video output port on your Amiga (with a suitable cable) and it will be a superb crisp picture.

It actually looks like an Amiga monitor anyway, so I'm guessing it has the same controls under the cover.

I have an amigamaniac rgb to svideo, and an svideo to vga converter.

Works on all screenmodes pretty good. Text is pretty readable on every screenmode. Not using these anymore since I'm now all virtual amiga.
