It may not be in the same class of the others described here in terms of total price but every time I see this guy relisting these, I have the automatic reaction of "Are you ***tting me!" 15 bucks for an individual keycap!

So sad, I remember when there was a whole ton of them new for 80 dollars, unfortunately at the time I didn't have a lot of extra income, and I couldn't justify 80 bucks since I already had an A4000.

God, what a jack ass.  I picked up two units when they were going for about $89 each some time ago.  I still have one unopened.  I would never presume to get $500 for it.  Maybe not even $100, honestly.

Ha, I'd consider buying that off you.  I've kind of been wanting one, and for some weird reason I haven't been able to get my A4000D to play CD32 games successfully.  I actually have wanted to get one of the controllers, though I heard the original boomerang was kind of crap.

I'm not sure of the generations of CD32 controllers.  I've always preferred them when playing games on my Amigas (kicked ass at Deluxe Galaga.)

But I won't be selling mine any time soon.  I plan to keep it as a gift to my grandson when he's old enough to play.  Later he'll get one of my Amigas, as well, just as his mother.

This isn't a particular, single auction but a general crazy auction that I just don't understand. All the auctions I see trying to sell magazine cover floppies. I just don't get it.

Why would anyone pay any amount of money, even 1 cent, for a 20+ year old floppy disk that might never have worked even when it was originally bought because of the trip through the mail with heat, rain, etc. Not to mention, it's a TWENTY PLUS year old floppy! Floppies under the best of conditions can fail in less time than that.

What's the point? I think pretty much every cover disk is available for download. Are there actually collectors that are completionist enough that they have to have an original cover disk, whether it works or not?

I bought the whole AUI coverdisk set about 10 years ago, they seem to all work. I just wanted the set. AUI had some great programs too. Yeah, some nut-collectors out there.

He's getting an Amiga for a mother?  How awesome is that?  Such great interfacing and women always claim they're multitasking!

Okay, I wouldn't actually call this a "crazy eBay posting" at all but it is.....exceptional:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-AMIGA-500-RESTORED-UPGRADED-1MB-CHIP-FAT-AGNUS-POWER-SUPPLY-MOUSE-REV6-/152177626783?hash=item236e7e4e9f:g:CZwAAOSwbYZXeGR0

So if I turbo-wash my A500 and replace some caps, I can almost get $400? Not bad. I think my trapdoor RAM expansion is even better. I need to get to work on this...

Oh, but my power switch does not have a light on it. Darn.

Update! It sold for over $400. Wow! This gives me hope on selling my A500. I just need to shine it up a bit.

On a side note, who would think an A500 would sell for about what a basic A1200 goes for? I know, A1200s are harder to come by.

Only the two larger caps pictured were replaced. I like the power light, but it seems to add $300 to the price for some reason. The problem I have with 'refurbs', is that of originality; How do I know it has an original ROM, or matching shielding, or matching upper and lower plastics? I'd much prefer to buy a warranty sealed unit if possible, or one that you just know the seller hasn't tampered with. Of course, refurbed is good when originality (matching of original parts) is explicitely stated. I'd never assume it.

But $400? I've never known a stock A500 go for that. Never ever. Nuts.
