The BIGGEST problem we have (anywhere) is people not staying on topic.

Could someone open a new thread to discuss the flaws in the government and health care in the US?

(ignoring all off-topic rambling, and posting a 'is this legal?'

So price isn't too shabby, but is it even legal to sell this without installation media?  I mean it's basically just old Wintel Hardware with Amithlon installed to a hard drive, that could very easily be damaged during shipping.

So, still trying to score an A1200 mobo after about 6 months. This morning there were no bids on this A1200 MB from Softhut.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-Amiga-A1200-Motherboard-REV-1D-No-Roms-Working-Pulled-/221964264571?hash=item33ae19e47b:g:RGkAAOSwbdpWaHas

There's still a few minutes to go and it's now gone insane with bids! :( Think I'll just abandon any hope of getting one of my A1200's going again! :furious:

Winning bid: US $177.50

That actually sounds pretty reasonable to me.  Doggone hoarders need to give up some of their collections, flood the market with cheap systems.  LOL, like that'll ever happen.  ;)

Ha, that is when ebay needs a comment section so you can say "Hey %&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!s, I need to get my poor A1200 working again, and I know most of you are probably hoarders and are going to put the motherboard on a shelf.  SHAME!"

P.S.  I am pretty sure I only put one swear word in there, something tells me the regex is broken here.

@OM, well, that might be a reasonable price for a crapped out A1200 with a working MB.... :hammer: It didn't even come with ROMs.... and I can't imagine someone snagged it just for that video enabler doohickey thingamabob. I actually bid twice (I must be crazy!) I'm the bidder with the 747 feedback near the top.

Mike, I just got two brand new 4GB Transcend CF cards from TigerDirect the other day! So, back to my A2000 project! :)

@slaapliedje
I'm sure that the winner was a hoarder! Notice that the JackA$$ had autobid enabled. BTW, ya, just gotta know how to swear in code!

Oh well, whaddaya do? So, if anyone has a spare A1200 MB laying around (yea, right!) I'm buying! :)

Swear in code... reminds me of some of the code comments I've heard of at work... I've recently been buying some things from people on Amibay.  Either A) eBay has insane prices, or B) never have what I'm looking for.  I'm not seeing any A1200 MB on there, though there is a nice A1200 on there right now with 060 etc.

Hmmmm, I've noticed that things get snapped up fairly quickly on AmiBay too.... although I'm not a member. That A1200 sounds awesome and pricey! :) Hope whomever gets it uses it and doesn't just toss it into the hoarder pile!

WTF is an IBM Aptiva box doing in that lot? Better be filled with Amiga goodies!  lol

Whose hoarder lot is this? Wish people would take better care of their stuff, stuff that *we* will probably end up bidding on or purchasing someday. Absolutely no reason to be stacking monitors like that. Good shelving is dirt cheap!

part of me wonders if that's what Best Electronics warehouse looks like!  Their website kind of reminds me of someone who just has a bunch of crap at their house, and randomly sells it.

Bah.  That picture makes me really angry.  I keep ONE C= era monitor, for testing.  ONE good Amiga at home.  ONE good Amiga at the office.  And ONE danged project, for if I ever get time for it.  I get that some people say how they're "doing the community a favor", and all that, blah blah, by saving these Amiga's from the junk pile.  And while part of that might be true, the number of people who are just absolutely turned off from entering the retro community, or unable to keep systems running due to scarcity of spare parts...  Bah.  I'll get off my /rant now.

On the bright side, @Gizmo, I might have a little something-something coming for my main A2000 soon, that'll put me back on top of the mountain again.  Just you wait, my friend!  ;)  ;)

I hate seeing horde piles like that!!! Greedy jerks is all they are.

On a happy note have you seen this? Man its still under $800 for all these nice systems. Even an A4000T here!

Yes, the lack of supply and ultra-high prices have dampened my Amiga enthusiasm.

Oh well, enough complaining and back to repairing the cheap Apple iie.
