It's back!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back onto eBay, "The Ultimate Amiga 4000T" returns.

Yeah, I asked them if they knew their site was hi jacked; my bad.

Their site (crazy4nuns) was devoted to singing/playing nuns with two prices listed: $9.99 or $2000 -- no in between.

Still live along with a lot of other $2000 listings. It will take eBay a few hours to deal with this. The strategy looks like get what you can in the several hour response time. If nobody bites the $2000 bait, they still might phish some more accounts for the next round. You would think eBay had profiled this by now. A response time of 15 minutes or less would discourage this. 1 minute or less would make it a losing game.
A2500 owned since 1993 with A2630/DKB 2632, DKB Megachip, GVP EGS Spectrum, A2320 and GVP HC+8 on the inside and a DCTV on the outside. A4000D with CSPPC, Cybervision 64 and a Flicker Magic flicker fixer. A4000T Toaster Flyer & CSMKII. All systems completly retro and classic and mostly used to do geometic art as in my avatar.

18 pages of fraudulent listings. The fraudster's database of high dollar eBay sales is growing. The Ultimate A4000T is just the one we notice. It's obvious they are using some sort of database script/app to upload all these listings once they hack an account. All eBay would have to do is to keep tabs of these item descriptions and set it up to automatically shut them down within seconds of being listed. Don't they have good coders?

You know, sadly, it is not an ultimate A4000T:  I have one still stored in its original box from SoftwareHut, with never used mouse, keyboard, floppy disks, switch keys and stand, that only came out of the box last year to be made up with a CSPPC 233/50, Mediator (Radeon 9200, sil3114ide, ESS-1 Solo sound, 8029RTL), Deneb, ZorRam 256MB, Indivision AGA MK2, DVD-RW, Mech's SCSI card reader and dual boots off a Maxtor Atlas U320 36 GB HDD into OS 3.9 and 4.1.

Wait, stored in a box?  And this is why it's so hard for the rest of us to find good, cheap hardware, LOL.  ;)

Have you seen the film, "Field of Dreams?"  The quote is, "If you build it he will come."  With the Amiga you can't use the word "cheap."  Secondly the quote is, "If you pay for it, it will come."  Now you may ask why this one stays stored in its original box and isn't used?  It is a near-twin backup Amiga A4000T for the one I use all the time. This one has a 146 GB 15k U320 main drive, an SATA DVD-RW and a SCSI 3 DVD-Rom with a 128 GB SSD.

Holy Heck!  That's $7,422 USD!  And it really isn't useable.  I remember one going last year for over a grand on eBay, but seriously.:insane:

I still kick myself.  Grapevine group had a bunch of these for between $200 and $400 back around 1995-ish.  I could have bought one, but I figured it would be useless.  UGH!

Well you are still correct, it is essentially useless. Just a collectors item. Just check out the collection value of the Cubist art just given to the MMoA in NY by Lawrence Lauder.

The previous C65 went for $7625 USD and it was missing chips.
