What about a Blizzard 1230 (optionally with the SCSI-board)?

I have a 50MHz Blizzard 1260 that I'd part with for £400 + shipping.

I'm still looking for a working 1240 myself if anyone has one to sell.

"Not wanting to spend a fortune" and buying Amiga hardware are opposite ends of the spectrum.:(

If you're looking for a solid Accel. that will actually come with a warranty, I'd hit up good old Amigakit for the ACA 1230/42.

It runs about $180 USD but that is for NEW hardware that is supported.

You can also go onto Amibay, search to see if there is anything in your price range and post a "Wanted" ad if there is not...

GOOD LUCK!

I can verify that the ACAs are great cards.  I have an ACA1230/28 and think it's great.
If you can grab a deal on one, all you really need is a RAM card to play WHDLOAD games.  A 4M is perfect.  In fact, the 8's can interfere with PCMCIA, so you might get one and toggle it to 4M anyway.
I used an 8M (usually with only 4M enabled) for a bit and it was great for WHDLOAD.

Only issue is that sometimes, these sell for almost as much as a 030 accelerator....  But if you get a good deal, I wouldn't be worried if your goal is WHDLOAD.

With a 4MB ram card you will be able to play all OCS/ECS and basic AGA games and demos (say 80% of WHLOAD installs), a decent 030 will let you play another 10% and an 060 is required for that last 10% ;)
