AmiApps you could not live without!
« on: December 29, 2003, 07:35:09 AM »
Ok, now that Amiga OS 4 is right around the corner (is it me, or does the screen refresh in the recent demos seem  like the refresh on a stock Amiga 020 set to icon mode rather than list, classic Amiga didn't need hardware accel to draw GFX, I'm beginning to think it is BLOATED.) it would be interesting to hear what applications you use or USED the most on your Amiga, and look foward to using on the new Amiga. Preferably stuff that you could use professionaly in a modern day situation, no 256 colour or less gfx programs. :)

My #1 personals would prolly be OctaMED and Digi Booster.

Are there any GOOD game construction kits in the works for Amiga PPC?

Hi,

I'll second a lot of what Pyro said: Toasters & a Flyer, DPaint 4.1 & 5, ImageFX, but  I still use AdPro a little, Lightwave, Opus in one form or another, and TurboPrint.

Happy New Year all!

Yam is a nice mail prog, only thing lacking is an integrated HTML email viewer.

@Odin

integrated html view is bloatware.
Use YAM2HTML from Aminet and html (pron) mails will be displayed
through IBrowse.

And of course good old DiskMaster !

For nothing more than simple copy/moving/renaming it beats Opus several times 8)

It's small and fast!

That is rather sucky. While I agree that HTML email sucks, I can't escape the fact that a large portion of the email I receive is written by idiots who use HTML email. I would like to be able to view those email messages 'inline' with the rest of YAM.

I just have to say that ToolsDaemon is a program that I couldn't live without. Even though it's built into OS 3.9+ I like it to be easy to set up. A nice replacement would do.

MagicMenu? Hehe... I guess I could get rid of that one :-) .

ClassAction, DOpus 4/5/whatever, IBrowse, AmIRC, ATC, Simplemail, YAM, AmiNetRadio, AmigaAMP, AMPlifier, SongPlayer, AmiWriter (or similar), SnoopDOS, MakeCD, Secondspinn, RC-FTPd. AWeb would be nice and perhaps an updated version of Voyager. IBrowse is the most important to me though.

These programs more or less HAS to work. Since I use them a lot.

lightwave!!!!!

scala is now off the list due to MALIBU for Hollywood.

also A scanner (generic) + printer (Generic) package would be nice , fxscan and turboprint doesnt cut it atm, we need more WAKEUP ON USB signal generic drivers...

cheers
