I donated and can care less if I loose money on this. Granted I WANT this to happen more than you can believe, and that is why I donated, but if it falls through, then it falls through, but it certainly don't have a chance if no one donates.

Asking for pre-orders so you can pay for the movie before you've made it is kind of lame. Thats just my opinion. If you want to make a film, it should be on your own dime. No one else does this. But then, this is amiga, so taking pre-orders to fund projects is the norm I guess.

I like to call it the "Amiga Dance."  It often ends in disappointment!

looking over several of the replies here I can see most of you have never heard of KickStarter  or understand how it works.

it has nothing to do with Amiga or any Amiga company, so lame jokes are wasted.

I have known several people who have tried to generate money to make their films using this method. The point is that NO ONE loses their money. That is one of the intensives to encourage people to donate.

There is also the fact that this system works around The complicated laws for "INVESTING". The gov in the US has a HUGH number of regulations regarding investing (in this films). The way KickStarter works you are just "buying" something - usually a DVD copy of the film, or dinner with the director, etc.

I think KickStarter is a perfectly acceptable method of generating $$$ for this project and people misunderstanding it is just childish and silly. Grow up. If you like the project, feel free to send a few bucks. that is all.

I dont know why anyone would take on a project of this size without funding in place FIRST. That my friends is bad producing. If you are making a Commercial project I dont think its fair to hit your target market for donations. If it was some community non profit group that is alltogether different.

@ franko

You're 47 years old? How lame can you be? You really need to step away from the computer and find some real life friends and activities. (but you are probably twice as intolerable in real life so maybe not) just go away you saw from your pathetic little thread about leaving that many will be thrilled.

Franko is this best you can do? I think changing someones quote and simply laughing is pretty lame so I have to side with magnetious on this one. This is the kind of trolling a 5 year old would think is funny. If you are going to troll do it properly.
Even my cat doesn\'t like me.

Hi,

@magnetic,

Can't you just say welcome back Franko, amiga.org was really boring without you around.

OOPS!!!

got to remember who I am talking to

The one and only, very famous, never wrong, knows everything about anything, hilarious, glorious, amazing magnetic. Ten time better than doomy would ever be, can insult anyone without a thought, condemns anything Franko says, I would like to present to you magnetic, who banters Franko with out a whim.

Was this good enough a troll kesa?

smerf
I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better

it's not always possible (or easy) to get funding first....anyway, this is just one method. if it doesn't get the full amount, no one loses a thing. it's just an effort.

in fact, even if it doesn't work This time, the guys doing this project can always try again later.
If they wish.........

and, really, just ignore that other fellow.....you are just playing into his game.
