Hello,

So I am guessing the answer is yes. :)

A talented team of Filmmakers are putting together a film documenting the Rise and Fall of the Amiga. They just need a little help with funding. Please read on.

You can make a difference today by pledging a small donation to make this happen.

KickStarter is a well-respected site that helps small projects get off the ground and has backed many 1000s of projects across the globe since its inception in 2009.

This is a unique opportunity to purchase a DVD charting the entire history of the Amiga. There will be familiar faces and interviews shown including the legendary Eric Schwartz; the creator of all those cartoon animations foreinstance Amy the Squirrel and Superfrog you probably watched over and over again when you was in your teens.

This DVD will be both informative and entertaining and will include many exclusive interviews with key figures that made the Amiga possible.

Please visit the URL below and make your pledge today, there is absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Thank you for reading

I ordered the DVD and am pretty excited to watch it. I'll be pretty pissed if I loose my money because the goal wasn't reached in time!

The author claims that he will release another trailer next week - I'm anxious about it...

Anyway here's a clip that probably has slip through the net and that proves that he is still pursuing material an working. It really seems very professional to me...

YouTube Clip

Check it out! And contribute (if you can)...

This is not how kickstarter works.

"Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands."

It's all or nothing.

First, djrikki, you sound like an infomercial.  Be careful.  And what you are saying is absolutely not true.

You are risking your pledge that they will deliver the reward promised if the project is funded.  There are no kickstarter policies/protections/recourses if this happens. In the FAQ, they mention "powerful social forces" and "being sued" ---- but this isn't like filing for a paypal refund or something.

So saying that there is absolutely nothing to lose is just not correct. Of course there is.

P.S. With all this being said, I support the project and will likely pledge something soon.  But let's just be honest with what we are saying.

Why would you be interested in this djrikki? You run an OS4-only website and you clearly have no interest in the real Amiga.

25k up front or it doesn't get made. Why? What's the point of flying this guy out to do interviews? Everybody is contributing to this thing for free according to the project site. Conduct interviews over the net and have folks upload their videos. The whole thing sounds like a massive waste of money.

@jorkany

I'm afraid you're wrong 'cos it will feature AmigaX1000, Imica, ARES and possibly other NG material - probably in very small doses, but still appearing...

Just check the trailer if you doubt me... Besides no matter what you say, Amiga Classic machines kickstarted this community (and it's trolls)...

Why not? It's the official Amiga (TM) way :P

He never said that..
It's 25K and it will be done (IMHO, I trust them) without too much trouble.
If they don't get it, my guess is that they are far enough along with enough great interviews already that something will be delivered.
But if they reach their goal, it will much more likely be a much more polished product.

Everything I buy on the internet is money up front with no "real" guarantee of delivery...
I have more faith in this than in most of my e-bait transactions..

I've watched several of the "Mac" documentaries, and think it would be great for us to have one of our own.

@ djrikki

let's not turn this Amiga video thread into another red vs blue flame fest.

I think the important thing to note is that both AROS & MOS honour the Amiga spirit as they were/are inspired by the original Amiga and therefore should be represented in the documentary/ history of the Amiga platform.

now back to talking about a film for Amiga fans then:)
