If you remember...
Fabio Falcucci gave us the Amiga Media Center (AMC) and we talked about PlugINS like EmuLA....

here is the first video of AMC 1.23 and EmuLA (Emulator Launcher)

First Video of Amiga Media Center 1.23 and EmuLA

AMC 1.23 adds a category for software... add applications and run them from your sofa...
i suggest this device:
Ares mediaCENTER offical recommended Remote/Keyboard

EmuLA will will be available as PlugIN for AMC and as stand alone for AmigaOS 3.x/4.x, MOS and others..

Questions and suggestions are welcome...

What is EmuLA?
- Itunes for Emulation of retro systems : )
- organize you collection of legal ROMS and Szene demos for various systems
- easy access to your favorite games of all generations
- EmuLA downloads any available Emulator automatically...
- If you like one of the PD-Roms or Demos shown in the EmuLA library... EmuLA downloads it at you request!
- EmuLA gives information about the emulated systems and games, incl. pictures
- will be available as PlugIN for AMC and as standalone for AmigaOS 3.0 / 4.x, AROS x86, MOS and more

The cool part is EmuLA running in JanusUAE : )

Oh and if you take AMC+ AROS + EmulA + a nice HTPC..... taddaaaaa you get a not expensive nice retro gaming multimedia machine.. ; )

like this: Ares mediaCENTER

-powered by a dualcore 3.0GHZ AMD CPU
-enjoy 3D games like Quake3, CubeAssault SuperTuxKart in HD thanks Gallium3D used in AROS
- enjoy classic AmigaOS and reuse your old but still useful apllications with the included AmigaForever software
- enjoy movies, photos, music and retro games
- surf the web with OWB
- chat with friends via IRC, MSN and Jabber

all preconfigured and competitively priced. (to be honest: it will be hard to find it for less)

There don't appear to be any Signetics-based machines (eg. Emerson Arcadia 2001) supported by EmuLA. I assume this will be corrected by the time EmuLA is released...?

This looks quite cool indeed, though it is important to keep in mind that OWB for AROS still has a number of kinks that need worked out before it is stable enough to use over your other current browser, though it doesn't seem far off...

Love the desktops btw.

This is just a start, there is no technical limits to the emulated machines that can be included, at release time or later using the update function :)

No kolla :)
You will not be classified as hater at least from me but since AROS, AOS4 and so on does not have such a program and not everyone have an xbox (including me :) ), I've tought to make this project.
I love retrogaming and I've done it in "my own way": simple.

I've been using XBOX Media Center for years as well, but the cool thing about this is that you don't have to put up with the XBOX's limited resources, therefore you can watch movies in higher resolution than what the XBOX would allow.

Though at the same time, when it comes to emulation, NOTHING beats the XBOX. It is the only system I have seen (aside of Winblows) that supports Turbo GFX CD, and Sega CD flawlessly as I can tell. That's two systems I'd really love to see supported by MorphOS and AROS.

OH yes, and NeoGenesis has a feature to over clock your virtual Genesis so you can play those games that slowed down and flickered on a real Genesis, without those issues! Beat that! ;)

If you wanted xbmc with full hd, then you dont need to spend any more than £200 for a completely system capable of 1080p h264 decoding in hardware, hence, I don't know of any reason to run aros in this case - for an htpc xbmc will do much better.

XBOX1 is still great for emulation as you say. Everything just works, with controller already nicely mapped for most stuff. as they can be picked up for next to nothing, and softmodded, they are still a viable solution so many years later. and of course xbmc (now xbmc4xbox) is still developed a bit.

I don't use XBMC on anything but an XBOX, so no Hi Def video for me...

...on that at least.

Though I am not complaining, this project sounds like it will suit me well when it is done. I don't sit around and watch movies that much anyhow, except when I do. :)

I just love the idea of having an Amiga based Media Environment at all.

heh. well, I won't interfere with your Amiga fetish :)

You can do 1280x720 video on the old xbox1, so long it is encoded to something the xbox1 can handle. It can do that res with mpeg4 for example at up to 6000kbit. Here's an example line to transcode something that i use (transcoding from another 1280x720 video encoded with h264 for example)

mencoder -sid 42  -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=5000:vrc_maxrate=6000:vrc_buf_size=4096 infile.mkv -o outfile.avi

I got all my Xbox's used, and the games, like every copy of Windows that I have is pirated.

It's just a shame that piracy really has no effect on the industry. :/
