I guess the title gives plenty of info about what I want. To download non stop using my Amiga instead of my ####ing pc. There is a Linux version of Kazaa and I want to use it but there doesn't seem to be a 68k version of Kazaa. I do have got a PPC A1200 but also wanna use it on my 68040 A4000 ... any bright advise ?? Using a pc is not the correct option, I really wanna use the Amiga for it and kick the pc's out of my house (except maybe one) !!

Try better edonkey or mldonkey, or better overnet (I use this).. Kazaa sucks this times.. you can download sources, so you can compile it for your machine..

Or you can wait for AmiGift it uses kazaa, gnutella, eDonkey protocols, and download from under Workbench - but it's not yet available tho.. :-)

As far as I know there isn't a linux version of Kazaa, at least there wasn't when I got back into using linux in september, and I haven't heard of one being released.
When you see people running it in linux it's probably through another program caled WINE (www.winehq.com) which allows windows programs to run under linux.
However, don't take this as fact. If you do find a linux native version of Kazaa, please tell!  :-D

As for running on an Amiga, you may be pushing it. I know you can get linux running on an amiga (I can look up the distro's name and website if you like) but I dunno if it supports PPC boards. If not, sorry, but forget it, unless your prepared to put a shed load of effort in to get a GUI up and running (you'll have to tweak X a lot to make it a runnable speed i'm told, or install an alternative to X). If it supports PPC boards, then you should be able to install it.

Kazaa or Kazaa like on Linux :

http://icannmovie.tripod.com/kza.linux.tar.gz

or the general search on Msn.com for 'kazaa linux"

indeed, there is no specific version of Kazaa for Linux, I thought I read it somewhere but I must have been wrong. Nevertheless I really wanna run something like it on my Amiga !! My pc is often busy all day long downloading and the Amiga is in my eyes perfectly capable of doing the same thing !!

the only way i have seen kazzaa ran on linux is through the WINE program somebody mentioned earlier which enables you to run windows programs under x86 linux only

Debian for 68k :-)  installation took 4 hrs+ on 1200 with 040/40 32MB, but it was great to see the fall down jaw of my buddy (who said that this is impossible on amiga), when he saw it running with X and afterstep:-D

Wasn't very speedy tho..

BTW is there any support for mediator yet?
