This is the add of a german Cyberstorm MK II with 68060 and a Powerup PPC board from which the info on The Big Book Of Hardware can be found HERE  :-)
Can not find if it is compatible with the Cyberstorm PPC and what the problems may be with this card ...

Is this maybe the thing Jeff is referring to in THIS question  :-?

Bidding ends today ...

And would the board be compatible with existing PPC boards ??

Hi Effy,

those card is a CS-060 MKIII (ready to fit the 604e) but onestly. i've never heard nobody that has used those PPC prototype hack with it.

I know, that those PPC module, was used in the first CSPPC (1 of 3 modules plus a backplane).

Ciao

ohh yes now i've understood . .  . .no those Jeff's question, was related to the CSMKIII upgrade to PPC.

The above mentioned hack/module is another thing.

Anyway the CS 060 on Ebay, is a CSMK3 (upgradable to PPC) but . . .  .by who? :-D

Ciao

PS- anyway 150 EUR for a CS060 MK3 (plus the PPC module) is a very good deal.

You should ask to Amiga.fr, if they can upgrade the above mentioned CSMKIII with the PPC CPU on the module (even if i think that it is a 603)

I was just trying to find a way to run OS 4.0 when it comes out without having to spend over $1000.00.  Especially when I have SO MANY Amiga's already  :-D

I have one of those boards too.
I got it on Ebay fro just 41.50 EUR incl. P&P.
I guess people didn`t trust this offer so it went so cheap. When it comes to paying I found out that the seller was actually Thomas Dellert, from him I learned that the "special software required but not included" was just a special Version of WarpOS that is on every OS3.5/3.9 CD.
When installing PPC-support you are questioned what board you have and there are 3 possible answers: CyberstormPPC, BlizzardPPC and Developerboard.
You can see that it is running by looking at my page: (sorry german only, but there are some pics)

http://home.joice.net/j100513/pages/powerup.html

I`m not sure if this module will work in the MKIII it is offered with, as Thomas Dellert told me back then that it will only work in a MKII.
The seller is selling a MKII too, so maybe things just got mixed up.

Those modules were never released to the public they were only send out to some keydevelopers so the could prepare PPC-Software while the right PPC-Boards were still in the makeing.

Don`t expect a powerboost, as the Processor ist only a 603 @ 150 MHz makeing it the slowest PPC available for Amiga and the RAM-Interface will only be 32bit not 64bit like on the later CSPPC.
It still is good enough for playing/encoding MP3, viewing Pictures an playing Quake I in a modest resolution.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

Hi Lemmink

i've noticed that the seller of the 2 items, was the same (1 MKIII and 1 MKII) but that it was Dellert!!!!

Sorry Lemmink . . .you had purchased from Dellert as private seller, or by DCE?

Cheers

The Ebay nick when I bought this module was m_fly
I don`t know if he was acting as DCE or as a private person. The account I payed to had his name.
If those card are sold by Thomas Dellert too then I guess he must know what he is talking about

Hi Effy

azz!!! no more cheap!

Anyway IF the seller is really Dellert, he has swapped the pictures of the MKII+PPC module, with the alone MKIII.

The problem is an another one . . . but . . ."all is possible"
