I wanted to get a decent spec PPC mac for that but the missus is likely to slay me in cold blood if I get one more machine :(

ya of course but she does know that there's room for the new X1000 right;)..I mean the A1XE in your sig needs a new replacement soon :)

You have to be kidding! Buying a cheap second hand mac would be bad enough as it is, buying yet another machine that actually costs some serious wedge also, will not end well :roflmao:

well since we're dealing with women this may be true:lol:...you can try to use logic on her like telling her that a new X1000 will always hold it's value in the market (new pc worthless after 1 year and old mac only worth the cost of disposal fees) and that you surely can get some good money for your A1 etc. but then again..women!:insane:

Now now, she's perfectly right. I don't really have space for another rig. Having a large PC, 2 fully towered A1200's and one wedge permanently set up (an A600 and another A1200 wedge in storage and a second PC awaiting a rebuild), with all the associated peripheral devices is clutter enough. Also, being a scientist, she's not easily swayed by that sort of dubious logic ;)

Karlos, what exactly do you do for a living? I always assumed, partly because of your statement "i solve practical problems", you worked in networking or tech support? Exactly what do you do? Just curious...

While I think Karlos is wasting his time and talent on OS4, I do have to say that if the majority of the OS4 community and dev team were more like Karlos that would go a long way towards making OS4 less unattractive.

Thanks, er, I think

I think that the problems you are alluding to are somewhat exaggerated in each camp; usually by a handful of zealots. Personally, I've found the that developers (from each platform) are perfectly normal, friendly human beings in all my exchanges with them.
