A1200 running games off compact flash hdd

Hi I have a standard a1200 which I have put a compact flash hdd In and I'm trying to load the games but every game I try to load it says can't allocate shadowmem is there something I'm not doing right ? It says I have 988120 graphics memory 0 other memory do I need more ram ?

If you're using WHDLoad, this thread should help. Bascally, yes, you need more RAM.

A1200 in DIY Tower. 3.2 ROMs (softkicking 3.2.3), OS 3.2.3, CF card, CD RW and IDE to SD adapter running off the internal IDE port (using the A4000 4-port IDE adapter from Amigakit), Pistorm 32 lite with Pi4/2GB/Emu68 or Blizzard 1230-IV, with 32MB 60ns RAM and 50MHz 68882 FPU.
MorphOS on PowerMac G5 and ATI 9600 pro

Thought so :) I've got a amitek 8mb ram board coming this week will that be fine fOr playing the games

Your 8MB RAM board will be perfect, I used a 8MB A1200 (and a 8MB CD32) for many years playing WHDload games, and even going online and making my own games. You wouldn't want to go web browsing on it (other than maybe visiting Aminet to download more files) but that setup should be enough for just about anything you'd want to do on it.

If you don't want to wait for the RAM board, some games might be playable from the CLI if you boot without Startup-Sequence.
