So far, I've managed to avoid selling any of my Amiga machines. I came very close to selling my main A1200T (complete with BPPC and BVision) back in 2002 during what was a financially difficult time. I'm glad I didn't - building it had been a labour of love and an expensive one at that. It is still running now.

Did you at any time sell your Amiga and then regret it having to buy another at some time?

I never sold any of my Amigas (I own only 2).
I regretted selling my Commodore C 116 and bought one on eBay later.
And I think I regret not having bought an AGA Amiga, when they were still hot.

I've never sold any of my Amiga's and seem to keep buying more! (Pick up my 4th A1200 tomorrow!)

But I do regret selling my original C64 :( - I gave it to my stepsister when I got my A500, and when she was done with it, she dumped it and didn't offer it to me back! I was soooo pissed! Boxed......hundreds of games, mouse pack, new PSU....ARGH the pain!

I also regret getting rid of my entire obsolete computer collection back in 2001 while space and money was a big problem. I owned quite a lot of systems, but it was the add ons, software and manuals that is the biggest loss *sob*

Heh,

I gave away two A4000's and never shed a tear.

...

Must admit they where given to me for free as well and I got completely annoyed with them (I mean, it takes a lot of effort making them "nice" hw and sw wise, and I had and have a tuned A1200 already).

ps. come to think of it, I got an apple pie for one of them

Not meant as insulting, its just that the land down under is the only place I hear of things happening this crazy.  "2 a1200s, a CD32, a CDTV and a CSPPC for free to good home.  Local Pickup only in the Perth Area.  If feeling generous, will trade for fruit pies."

:insane:

Hi,

Once when I bought my first Amiga 1200 from someone selling it on ebay, I received a computer so full of dust that it took me almost an hour to vacuum out all of it. Then to top it off the PPC card didn't even work, it was fried probably from all the dust, I mean it was so dusty that at first the fan didn't even work, while I was vacuuming out the fan I accidentally knocked it off the board, but even after it was clean it still didn't work.

let me tell you some people, the only good thing was that he took it back and gave me my money back.

I did years ago and never again, that was a bit mistake.

Mike.

It was a 32 Bit Mistake.

Sold my original 1990 A2000 in 1997.  Got one back again in 2007.

Like someone else here, I had to do the PC thing for work.  However, I sold my Amiga because I wasn't using it due to that work, not because I had to sell it.  I regret that decision for sure.

I had a loaded A3000... 2Mb Chip, 16MB Fast, 1GH HD, ecternal 32X CD ROM, Bernouli 20MB system, all chips upgraded to their latest revisions, no battery damage on the motherboard, and even plunked down over $400 bucks for a Picasso IV - this was back in 1998 when you could still buy them new and dialup was still kicking.

The last thing I did with it was purchased OS 3.5 and RedHat Linux.  In fact, I still have the box from OS 3.5 since I couldn't find it when I sold the system.  I also kept my US Robotics V.Everything for some reason.

So I finally bought another A3K on ebay about 2 years ago with intentions of getting it back to where I was before.  However, it went into the garage and was only dug out this past week.  With the help of some people here I got her back up and running (forgot the rule on drive cable hookup) the other day and need to start those overdue upgrades now.

On that note - I'm on the hunt for a Picasso IV (sure that will be very difficult to come by), 16MB Fast Zips, a "pregnant" mouse, floppy bay cover, and expansion bay covers/screws - so if anyone wants to part with them or knows where I can get them (I check ebay daily) let me know.

Still have my perfect, unyellowed original A500 I bought from Software Hut many years ago. :) I recently went through it, replaced the fraying keyboard ground strap, installed a Mega Chip, ECS Denise, 3.1 ROM, and a few other little things. Still working flawless alongside its GVP A530 playmate.

I can't recall selling much Amiga gear over the years. Off the top of my head:

Blizzard 1260: DCE model, factory clocked at 60MHz with a real 60MHz CPU. Sold it about 10 years ago along with a DCE internal scandoubler (made money on both), regretted until I got my hands on an 80MHz Apollo sometime later.

CV64/3D+Scandoubler: Great combo. I was amazed at how it transformed my A2000, but the scandoubler was a PITA to get working correctly in the A2K. Sold it after (finally) experiencing the Picasso IV, and set the money aside to get another PIV. :p No regrets.

Pegasos 2 G3: Sold it after less than a year to fund an (at the time) monster PC that I water cooled and overclocked the shillz out of. I don't miss the Pegasos, just an occasional interest to check out how MorphOS has progressed since the 1.3 days. (Or was it 1.4? I can't recall).

That's all I can think of. I do have a few things I'd like to sell or give away one of these days when i find the time.

Pregnant Mouse = Original A3000 Mouse.  Had flat buttons and a huge hump as opposed to the sleek look of today's mice.

This is interesting. I know lots of people on here sold their miggies in the 1990's and eventually came back into the scene like i did. Exactly how many of us did this and how many of us never left the scene in the first place? I find this really interesting :)

I'd set up a poll but someone has already set one up a while ago and i don't want to ruin it for them. Damn it! :(
