Workbench 1.3 tuning
« on: May 08, 2011, 02:01:49 AM »
Hi

I started to reinstall my a500 with GVP HD+8

I did some digging to get wb useable and prety

I found these:

MagicWB1.3
http://aminet.net/package/pix/mwb/MagicWB1.3
That makes possible to use MagicWb icons with WB 1.3

Popper from Fred Fish disk 900
It is some kind of pre magicmenu

MyMenu from Fred Fish disk 225
It makes possible to edit menus

I've still some questions,:

Where is ram disk icon in wb 1.3???
Are there easy way to new drawer??? Without cli??
Is there easy way to clean up icons and snaphot them?? Without needing to do it for one icon at time?

1-ram disk icon on WB 1.3 is there but is not on disk...is magic
2-you can make new drawers using tools like diskmaster or diropus
3-no...you can't snapshot tons of icons in one step like on wb3.x
workbench 1.3 is very primitive

Hahaa, thread necromancy! I noticed this while googling for something else.

WB1.3 can do all of these things.

1. You must copy a disk.info file to RAM: in your startup-sequence before running loadwb if you want it to have a custom icon. By default it has no disk.info and will show the default white floppy icon that each volume with no disk.info gets.
2. The reason for the "Empty" drawer in a Workbench 1.3 disk is so that you can make new drawers with the GUI. Select Empty and then select duplicate from the menu. Tada: new drawer, no CLI needed.
3. You can multi select in 1.3 by holding down the shift key while clicking on multiple icons, then you can snapshot or duplicate or delete or drag them elsewhere in one go.

Hi
Where is ram disk icon in wb 1.3???

If the question was 'Where is it?! It's missing!', then check the L: drawer and make sure that the file ram-handler is present.

I bought some 3.1 kickstarts, now all (3) my A500 Computers has a ks3.1.

1.3 is too Limited and now with whdload there is no problems with diskette games.
