FAO: Cloanto

I paid for Amiga Forever Premium and C64 Forever over two months ago and have still not received the boxed discs.

I sent an email to the people who handle your online transactions and they told me to contact you via a form on your website.

I did this over a week ago and have received no response from you.

I am posting this publicly in the hope you read these forums because all attempts to contact you privately have failed.

Kind regards.

I waited months and months, maybe a year or more for my first copy of Amiga Forever.  Mind you I'm not complaining because it was a free gift.  Thanks Michael!

I hope you don't have to wait much longer Nicholas

At this point Nicholas, they owe you a refund.
A smart seller would refund your expense and send you the disks.
Even with the small market Cloanto serves, there's no excuse for such shabby treatment.

WOW, that is some craptastic customer service there. Geez.

Looks like I dodged the bullet - I was either going to order Amiga Forever or Spectaculator (Spectrum pfft) online in the next couple of days and needed help deciding but my money's now going on the latter (thanks for posting and helping me decide).

Edit: Re-reading I realise this sounds like a snide jab at Cloanto but I rarely buy software online.

I bought Amiga Forever in the digital only version, had no issues with "delivery".  However, I would not buy it again.  The program is a complete kludge on anything other than WinXP, it's a complete gongshow under win7.  Save yourself the money and just grab ROM's, adf's and the emulator of your choice for your respective platform.

What's a gongshow?!

In any case I run it under Windows 7 64-bit and also Windows Vista 32-bit without any problems at all. Personally I quite like it... although if you really like tweaking your configs it's probably less hassle to use WinUAE direct (which to be fair is installed, set up with ROMs, and automatically updated to the latest version, using Amiga Forever).

I've been using Amiga Forever since it was first released.  For me it works perfectly on Windows 7 32Bit and 64Bit - it would be nice to know what problem you had with it when you describe it as a "gongshow"; if nothing else we might be able to help you with it!

In terms of delivery, I've also had to wait up to two weeks for copies of Amiga Forever DVDs and CDs to arrive, but never had them not arrive.  It's a shame you have to post on the web to shake the tree enough to find out why you're delivery hasn't happened - I hope Cloanto respond accordingly for you.

To be fair to Cloanto, the version I have is a year old.  To be fair for me, I wish I hadn't bought it and I'm not paying for the latest version and I won't deal with the company again.    Updater doesn't, never has - worked for me.  Crashes.  The launcher has bad display issues with SLI PC's, yet WinUAE runs just fine on the same SLI PC's.  Suppose it's ok, it's not terribly expensive - I just wouldn't buy it again.  Bug reports have gone entirely unanswered.

Amazing then that the Retrogenius Amiga DVD works perfectly from Windows 2000 and Windows 7 64bit :roflmao:

I have Amiga Forever and C64 Forever (download versions) and it works fine on my two 64bit Windows 7 machines.

Very strange...
