Most of these are pirate amiga games with this machine its not the best collection there was a 1000 pirate games on ebay a little while ago.

If you want those in your collection instead of genuine disk thats up to you. :-?

geniune disks are more valuable and nicer to have yes but pirate software is cheaper and you can get more games that way. pirate software didnt do the amiga any favours once commodore went bust and the hardware was outdated but as none of these developers work on the amiga anymore, nevermind distribute their games on floppy disks, using copies for old games really shouldn't be such a big deal anymore.

Thieving is still thieving someone still owns the copyright to the software even if they dont write amiga software anymore thats still a poor reason to buy them. :-?

I don't see much indication that they guy is selling a bunch of pirated games. I see one disk with Zool II handwritten on it. It could be a backup.

Question:  How do you know most of those are pirated amiga games?  I can see parts of 9 disks in the picture the seller provides,  and 6 of them look to be original disks.  Even if we forget the 3 Workbench disks, there are still 6 visible disks, half of which appear to be original.  If we were to assume that the ratio 50:50 holds for the entire pile of disks, then the statement "most of these are pirate amiga games" would not be true, unless you have more proof than the rest of us about the nature of the unseen disks.


I think those pirated amiga game disks could be put to good use by formatting them and copying over legal games from Back 2 the Roots! :-D (although I'm not sure I'd bother wiping the disc on the left since it's already free on Back 2 the Roots ;-) )

90 per cent of unboxed discs sold on ebay are copys its rare for people to not have boxes for a large collection of discs such as this, a few maybe but as he has one game thats a copy he is sure to have others. :-)

It is absolutly rare now days. I bought a couple of games on ebay a few months back that came in original box (guy was a butthole too and shipping was double the cost of the software). But the software was original Amiga. I believe it is rare but even if you never use your disks they WILL go bad. That said, I would pay the programmer if I were so inclined for a pirated piece of software. Yeah d00de, I'll give you 5 american dollars for that 10 year old title and that's being generous.
Nevertheless it IS important to a collector to have the original box but most of the value (in my mind) of the software is IN the software.
I agree with you Amigamad, but it does seem a little frivilous. Music theft is a far greater problem then classic game theft.
