CD32 or 1200 CD-ROM

Will the CD32 play back ups?

Would I be better off just installing a CD-ROM into my 1200?

If I get a CD-ROM for the 1200, what would be the best solution which would avoid putting the 1200 into a tower. I would like to use it with my CF card reader.

First of all Happy Easter!
 
Play CD games the way they're meant to be played on a CD32 no compatibility issues at all!
 
And yes the CD32 do play backups no modifications needed!

An external SCSI drive connected to your Blizzard would be your best bet mate.

If you go the A1200 CD route, good luck getting a lot of CD32 software to run as advertised!

CD32 = Play CD32 and CDTV games without any messing about

A1200 CD-Rom= Play most CD32 and CDTV games but may have to mess about with different settings. IDE-Fix can help with CD32 games but not CDTV games. On a plus side you can also play A1200 CD games.
To avoid the Tower route you can get a squirrel off ebay.

$50-$100, more depending on condition and extras I'd say.

Sweet, if I can score one for around $50, I'll be a happy boy.

Seeing as I already own a decked out 600 and 1200, is there any practical reason to upgrade one of these units?

For gaming off floppy? Nah. For the WHDLoad thing? Yeah, you're gonna want some Fast RAM at least.

Umm... yeah. Stock CD32 plays all its games just fine. Just the same as most other consoles do.

I think for easy Amiga CD gaming the CD32 is a no brainier. My A4000 is running some kinda CD32 software to run games, some work, but some don't. Mind you there is some emulator on there I've not tried yet
