Something I just remembered
« on: April 03, 2011, 07:31:40 PM »
Hey guys,

I just remembered a memory from my childhood and my Amiga 1000. I became very proficient in Amiga Basic and I started writing all kinds of applications by the time I was 7. One thing I wrote that I'll never forget, - I wrote a menu-based GUI that replaced the Workbench 1.x GUI. It loaded from CLI, and it had options to move and copy files, run apps and even empty the trash bin. I actually remember having it boot directly from Amiga DOS off of a modified WB 1.3 diskette using the system-startup shell script.

I hope to try that again, or better yet... If I can find the original code on one of my Extras disks..
