How many Amiga Video Toaster Users?
« on: March 29, 2011, 12:22:35 AM »
We are seriouly considering making more of our Digital Video Effects available for the Amiga Video Toaster. Most of out effects currently require a TriCaster, VT[5] or SpeedEDIT. But before we can invest the time and resources into this we need to know how many active Amiga Video Toaster owners are left? If you don't mind please take a sec to answer our poll.

Best regards

Had to vote for the last option cos I only use A1200 these days... :)

Hopefully though enough people will vote positively though to encourage you to do so... :)

Pryromania

There is still a surprising amount of toaster users but they dont even know about sites like this. Back in nyc I had many toaster customers for repairs or upgrades..

All you need is an expansion kit that adds a video slot. NewTek had to sell to A1200 owners when A4000T machines became illegal to manufacture.

I take it the only hope of finding one of them would be on eBay these days... :(

I have the A4k version in my stock A4000, that I originally got when I traded it for an a1200, but its without software.

Unless I can find a full toaster/flyer/external HD case/accelerator with lotsa ram) for real cheap, I don't see using it. My Toshiba laptop/Pinnacle Studio/Canon FS200 setup works great, and is portable! Sorry.
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

Why not just use CF cards instead of hard drives? Even if you don't have a Flyer you can use your Video Toaster 4000 as a live switcher/effects/paintbox and input it into other editing systems.

Haven't used mine in about a decade.  I should pull it out and store it but it doesn't seem worth it.  How much electricity do they draw?

I use my toaster to VJ with the switcher doing all my effects, I have 3 systems only one working, my PAR worked for 5 minutes and the HD died, I am building a new desk area to work on them, they are big, I guess I am spoiled by laptops too. I love reading all things here on A.org and thank every one who has helped me over the years that I have returned to Amiga computers.

To be specific, I have a hard drive already in it that has WB 3.9 installed. I don't have the Toaster software, although I should get off my lazy butt and get the damn CD.

Playing with it back during broadcasting school was fun.

I haven't used mine in almost 2 years. Love to do another project someday, but where's the time these days. I probably need to start snooping around for a 4000  card to replace the 2000 card.

Well, regardless of the number of active Toaster/Flyer users you find, I hope that you will continue to support us few remaining users with new products.  It is your last link to the original Amiga that you know and love, but not a "correct" business decision for making money.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)
