What classic machines do you use ?
« on: March 19, 2011, 11:44:12 PM »
Being that I hope to pull my finger out and finally get around to making a few clasic amiga games this year I'd be interested to know what sort of classic machines people are using these days.

Ive structured the poll a little differently to try to get a broader feels of the actual hardware in use. It'll show the results a little unusually in terms of percentages, but will tell me what I want to know more accurately.
Thanks

Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

The polls in recent times werent about the actual classic hardware in use, but rather what form of "amiga" a person uses. As for who cares, well me obviously or I wouldnt have made the poll. As I said already I want to get a feel of what hardware is in use so I know what to target.

Oi... Fishy... why haven't you voted in your own poll... :(

PS: I didn't mean "Who Cares" about your poll, I meant who cares about the other ones now, it's always good to have a new poll every now and then to see who's using what... :D

As for the poll, that was a bit weird, seems the thread was active before Id finished creating the poll. It's there now though.

Ere Fishy... you can't class the MiniMig or UAE/Amithlon/AmigaXL/Fellow as Classic Machines that's a big No, No when it comes to the term and meaning of "Classic"... :(

Ah, thanks for elaborating there. I must admit I did misinterperet what you meant with that. :)

Yeah, I had to think twice about them, but decided to include 'em 'cos theyre some peoples only options for 68k software. Still gives me an idea of what sorts of "amiga" speeds/resources are available to ppl though.

It would be interesting to see the distribution of AGA vs OCS/ECS between Europe and the States

All my Amigas are OCS/ECS machines: A500/A2000/A3000.

This was primarily due to a television production job I had in High School/Undergrad, all before AGA amigas came out.  I didn't notice a video toaster in the poll.

True enough... one thing I'd really like to know though is how many "Classic" users use DVD burners on their Amigas, as I've never bothered to update my DVD burning utils on Aminet as I'm not sure if it's worth the time and effort doing so if there aint a lot of folk burning DVDs with their miggies... :)
