I find that rather odd statement since they haven't released very much tech information on their Amiga series.

At least Amiga Inc have finally found a business plan that seems to be working for them, even if it is only hawking the Amiga name to anyone with e few grand to spare and a product to sell but no name to put on it.

So, any idea how this fits with Commodore USA?  This is a tad confusing.  Is Amiga, Inc. just selling off right in every country around the globe?

I suspect this is McEwen Inc, forcibly or otherwise, simply trying to settle it's debts. Pure speculation on my part though...

I suppose now we can expect Amiga Power Tools, Amiga Cola and Amiga Condoms... wait? Don't we have some of those already?

You know I find it very funny that Leo the "chief technical officer" of commodore usa can comment on all kinds of stuff, insult forum users, spew misinformation, hype and nonsense under 7 different accounts...
 
Yet when something like this happens they have no comment or they don't comment on here.  I would think this is a rather important development. Especially since they were claiming they had exclusive worldwide licensing rights.
 
I belive there is a company selling anyone with a couple of bucks the right to use the name. Perhaps the belived that no one else would bother.
 
Still, its a bold faced lie saying you have exclusive worldwide rights to the name. And still, no comment from CUSA?

Doesn't seem too exclusive now does it?

It seem they only got 'exclusive' rights to use the Amiga name on "AMIGA branded “AIO” (All In One) keyboard computers" - that still leaves the door open for Amiga-branded computers not built into a keyboard, and anything else that doesn't fall into that category.

According to Kleperis, his company IContain is operating from China and about to revive the Amiga line of electronics. Why he choose to use Aminet as his first contact with the actual Amiga scene was not explained though."

Just because YOU haven't seen it, doesn't mean they are not doing AIO Amigas.  I may not buy one of their All In One Amiga(s) (I'll wait for a big box), but the initial design does look pretty sweet.  Even more so if they act on my suggested changes to it, of course. ;-)

There goes 1/2 of cusa's customers. I can't imagine they would be very happy about another company selling amiga branded computers. I mean after the millions they spent on research and development and all...

Yeah guys, Barry confirmed to me that this is Mr. Bill's doing. Or as he put it "wild Bill strikes again…".
I don't know that he's real happy with this, but i don't think he's taking it too seriously.

I kinda feel sorry for him in this instance. He decides to take the risk of marketing computers with a recognizable trademark that's had some negative press in the last decade, and the guy he licenses the trademark from lets a Chinese company label appliances with the same trademark.

Now even Barry Altman has been abused by Mr. Bill.

IContain is for RTO items.  You don't make your payments, the item stops working.  That is what this is all about.  So I don't see any significant issues with C=USA Amiga line, do you?
