Interesting.... Great site..
It's really interesting to see how many machines, even 486-100's (and 1 P60) were under 20FPS, going down to about 11FPS..
It really shows that, expecially with those early PCs, it wasn't just CPU power, but video card and other issues..
Looking at that tho, my A1200 with ACA1230/28 is respectable at 6-8 FPS in High Detail (I tend to run in in low detail to be playable tho. 10-12FPS ;-).
Running with half the framerate on half the CPU speed and a 30 compared to 486's. Not too bad.
Problem again was upgrade costs. I could add a video card to my PC for $200 (less if I helped someone upgrade thiers and collected their OLD card, which I did to build almost all of my first PC.).
But in 1993 (Doom's release date), a 68040 with some RAM for the Amiga was MUCH MUCH more money..
