I am all for new technology, specially when it comes to the Amiga. BUT, are people really paying these prices for what boils down to decades old Technology?

Not sure what one of these costs new but at around 400 quid it doesn't seem too bad to me... :) (or are they a lot cheaper new ???)

If you think that's bad I was bidding on this snes game which only has an hour to got but this ones gone totally bananas... :)

That's nothing, some nob paid $2000 for an NES cart a few years ago.....the fool :roflmao:

Nobody in the MorphOS team received any payment since Bill Buck screwed the developers some years ago. Today, MorphOS is a charity organization that prolongs the life of old Macs by providing Amiga-alike operating system to the old Apple hardware and all this labour for free.

Serious point here, as I don't know what this "Red V Blue Camp" is all about, which camp am I in... ??? :)

I was just pointing to another thread where this has already been discussed to death.

I must agree. The Red-vs-Blue flare up was funny for the first little while but, now it's just tired.

Naah, just a few months ago an original copy of "Personnal Software" edition of Zork went away for $2495. A bit later an Starcross unit, with the flying suacer box new and sealed was sold by the same vendor for the very same price.

I'm an Infocom collector myself, but must just keep to what I can pay, which generally means the less rare and more affordable standard grey-box editions.

yeah, that's a bit high. when i was looking for a SAM board early last year, i saw tryterra's prices and moved on. of course his boards are new, but even so, you should be able to get them new for around $600, and less if you get one used.

heck, you can get the board for e465 from acube directly, OS4 included.

I personally don't have the money.  Commodore isn't coming back.  I would rather get my computer life back by creating my own computer by learning electronics, processors and microcontrollers than to be just a consumer.  I'd rather make my own happiness.

I'm happy for those who bought a Minimig.  I think the future might be in boards like the Beagleboard, the Hawkboard, the Chumby and so forth.  I think you should really track down the Commodore engineers and have them design a chip that could do graphics and sound because there are companies traveling to Asia to have microcontrollers made.  If they can do it, I don't know why all of you should be stuck here paying big bucks for what you could bankroll elsewhere in R&D.

I just bought a Nintendo 64 with two controllers and all cables for $5.00 at a local flea market. Not too bad a deal.

This was not meant to be anything against The OS capabilities (It is amazing what can be read into a post these days) My point was purely price. At the very least, the price of these boards doesn't seem to be going down.

And, if anyone really thinks I am trolling, take deep objective breath and re-read the post.
