I have just bought an a4000 desktop after being away from the scene for years so I'm a bit rusty on a few things...
I have tried every method of getting os3.9 onto the amiga, managing to get past the issues with cdfs and the cf adaptor using all sorts of wacky methods. I've missed something somewhere though as after I reboot when installation is complete, it's still showing the good old grey and blue user interface (although some of the icons are colour). I have even had the same results using winuae. I've played with the preferences but had no luck.
I've tried the 3.1 to 3.5 then 3.9 method as well as the direct to 3.9 option.
Is there a painless method in which I can use winuae and the cf card to install os3.9 and just simply plug it back into the amiga? I've spent hours searching on the forums and still find myself without a solution...
The system is a stock 4000/040 with indivision aga and an amikit 4 way ide card added.
The cf card is 4gb but the main partition is 500mb.
