vidi amiga 24
« on: December 13, 2003, 08:29:49 AM »
I was trying to take pictures of some stuff to put on that ebay thing the kids are using today and the flash on the cheapo digital camera I've been using dies, so every picture is super dark and ugly.

In the middle of it all, I decided to set up all of my Amiga's and enjoy the click click of the floppy drives once more, and maybe do some awesome Amiga computing for a change.

Well, I remembered that I had a Vidi Amiga 24 that I used to use as a scanner way back when (I'd connect a camera to it and digitize* stuff, some of which just happened to have been papers.) So, I think I might just use my A1200 to digitize some stuff for ebay. How's that for fun?

I wonder if I'll be the first to do such a thing. :pint:

*-That's an old word, eh? I think they call it "capture" now, right?

edit: Found the disk for the Vidi Amiga 24 RT, now just need to get it to stop guruing when I grab anything. Time to fiddle with the settings!

The vidi 24 was a fine digitizer in its day.  I used to take screenshots of Super Nintendo games and laserdisc movies with it.  Full color grabs from a moving picture, back in the early nineties.  nice!

The difference, as compared to today's digital still cameras, is that the max resolution of the RT(24)Pro is about 640x512 in 24Bit Colour mode (PAL).

I've created larger pictures but that required careful joining of two (or more) images to result in a LARGER composite.

This 800x600 BackDrop pic was extended on the rh-side, and at the bottom, from the 640x512 resolution original VidiAmiga grab.

@amigamad

I thought I could get away with editing my "I can't find the disk" post before anyone saw it. I found the disk in a box that was hiding from me. :-)

Thanks for looking, though.
