Hope aw.net recovers soon. I like that place. Discussiosn pretty often turn couraged there and there is an overall bias to OS4, but all in all I like that place.

Well, I usually don't get distrurbed by avatars and/or tough speech and such things (I even like to break conventions ofgood taste/establishment) , but especially as a German I am a bit allergic when I see SS-Runes (or other nazi insignia) in a context that may get misinterpreted. I mean the girl doesn't look bad, plus she's looking prototypish German - and wears a uniform with nazi signs. The picture is not further commented by your avatar or sig - hence it could easily get misunderstood as a glorification of the nazi regime. And that is one of the really few things I reall don't like. I guess most Germans (and even more those who suffered from the Nazi regime) may feel offended by your avatar.
While I doubt you glorify the Nazi regime I suggest to better change the avatar to avaoid confusion or give a reference in your signature. At least in Germany you would ask for trouble with this avatar - showing nazi signs is forbidden by law (exceptions are for art and documentation).
On http://www.juliadietze.de there are plenty nice pictures of her w/o nazi signs...
Sorry, I know the german laws with the nazi symbols, I'm trying to promote this Finland movie, because it has success perphaps will be premier in my little city, Curiosly the actress is from your country, and I think that she is the good in this movie, about the runas, well, againd about the german laws, sometimes are very strict, I'm agree with the nazi use, but you don't forget that the SS runes and the swastika are pagan and mistycal symbols, that the nazi appropriated for their mytical madness, other totalitarian regines fascist, comunisn, etc., also done.
Also we forget that in the one dollar bill there is a mason symbol, etc.
And when the movie will be premiere, I'll change the avatar.
