Ram Disk AND RAM_0 ?

Hi All,

I seem to have Ram Disk *and* RAM_0 icons.  They appear to be two different things (two different ram disks).

I can't see any reference to RAM_0 in the startup sequence.  

Any ideas how I can remove it?

Check what's in your Devs folder

I seem to remember that there were two RAM Disks:
1) the ordinary one that grows from memory with usage
2) a pre-sized to 880kb one that represetns a floppy disk and does not loose it's content on reboots (only power outages) used for fast copy disk-via-ramdisk-to-disk and testing.

That would be RAD: not RAM:

I think you should look for RAD. Either you have it put in your Devs/Dosdrivers, you are mounting the devices found in Storage/Dosdrivers or you are mounting it somewhere in your startup-sequence.

I have used RADs in the past to make a non-bootable SCSI controller more pleasant to use, by making a boot disk that mounts RAD, and copies all needed files to RAD, so the boot disk only had to be used when the computer is powered up. It's a nice solution for a non-bootable controller :-)

I go a step further and copy the entire OS into RAD from a cold-boot selected snapshot archive
