« on: January 12, 2011, 02:27:16 PM »
Hey all, is there a 'easy to use' tutorial out there for whdload, as the homepage's help is rubbish, and all I have manage to do is dbl click the install file and it comes up with a box saying, 'can not find installer'

many thanks

You need to check your workbench install.  Installer should be in C but might be it tools or utulities cant remeber which.  If not download the latest installer from aminet

That has nothing to do with WHDLoad - installer is delivered with the install floppy of your OS disks. Aminet  doesn't work for me but the newest installer seems to be available here: http://web.archive.org/web/20070212200340/http://www.aminet.net/util/misc/Installer-43_3.lha

C:Install is not C:Installer!

The Install might be version specific, I've had not problems with installing on 3.1 and 3.9, what Amiga OS version are you running?

Managed to get the proper file in the C dir now.

I have tried two 1 disk games, but both say I need AmigaDOS 3.0, I take it this is standard for a lot of the game installs?

Does that mean I need to get new roms 3.0 + workbench 3.1 and it will work fine?  If yes then why would whdload say it works on 2.1?

Many thanks for your help as always

edit- running os 2.1
