Wanting to sell: A2000. Oregon
« on: January 08, 2011, 01:05:07 AM »
Giving this another shot:

Not super interested in shipping this, as it weighs a ton, and will almost guaranteed be wicked expensive to ship.

Its an amiga 2000, NTSC. Has a perfectly working keyboard but no other peripherals.
Has 2 RAM boards (2 megs each) for the zorro slots.

No other expansions.

Case is painted black, though it could use a slight touch up. LED on hte front left of case is missing.

Machine works great, no problems when I powered it up a few months ago. Its been sitting snug and comfy under my bed, so no moisture damage. No battery damage either.

Looking for 50 bucks, but it's pretty much going to have to be pick up only.

Anyone up for a roadtrip ?

If it was me, I would dump the Amiga 1200 and keep the Amiga 2000.  I have all of the different Amiga models, including the Amiga 1200, and I tell you this, the Amiga 2000 is the best Amiga that Commodore ever produced.  It was designed and made in Germany and it is extremely well made.  I have 4 Amiga 2000 computers in like new condition, 3 of them still in their original boxes.  If I was forced to keep only one Amiga model, I would keep my Amiga 2000 computers and sell the other Amiga models.

FACTS:

I never have problems with any of my Amiga 1000, 500, or 2000 computers.

I always have problems with my Amiga 3000, 3000T, 600, 1200, 4000, 4000T, CDTV, and CD32s.

So, by these facts, I would advise you to keep the Amiga 2000 and dump your Amiga 1200.

I can not believe that some stupid idiot actually painted an Amiga 2000 computer black.  If not for that, I would have traded you an Amiga 1200 for your Amiga 2000.

The guy I got it from was an old alcoholic, so who knows. Maybe it seemed like a good idea at the time :)

I'd take a true 32-bit Amiga any day.  And I have several non-working A2000 machines, so they're not quite so hardy as you claim, IMO.

as far as the 1200 goes, well, the PCMCIA slot is handy for file transfers, AGA chipset, and takes 2 meg chip without messing around with stuff.
Also, active IDE slot without needing anything special.

Not hating on the 2000, but I dont have the space to set it up, as its an NTSC machine which is a pain as well.

My A2000 is a rev 6.2 board.  It was NTSC, but a 5 minute bit of DIY with a sharp knife and it is now PAL.  I thought about fitting a switch to toggle it, but I can't say I've ever had the need for a NTSC Amiga.
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

yeah, me neither. It takes up a monstrous amount of space unfortunately, so even with modding it, it'd still sit under my bed.

Nobody on the west coast fancy this?

heck, I'll trade you for something else, if you got anything cool

He's posted in this thread twice.

You can't fail to spot him.... A2000 obsessed, arrogant and likes to name call whenever he can.

T minus 1 and counting!
