Well, by the time I would really retire is about 33 years further :roflmao:
I guess I would hit email and ask someone to update all of my Amiga's with new caps and other repair works.

But I would still play games I guess, wouldn't do anything too complicated.

You have 33 years to learn how to do it yourself!

Hmm, so I won the lottery eh? Or my employer suddenly does really really well :-S

After setting myself up with a nice cottage in the countryside, I think I'd get an Amiga (FPGAArcade if it's out by then) and do some game programming and graphics (hurrah, Personal Paint!) to satisfy myself. I might write some OCS games that benefit from the faster 68k on Minimig/FPGAArcade, for example.

I'm already trying, but soldering isn't something I done much, yeah in high school, but that was about 20 years ago.
I've done some repair works on 2 A2000's which were a no go anyway.
But I have much to learn I guess.
I am capable of desoldring things, but then resoldering is quite a mess I think, considering I'm using a tiny Weller WM12.

Classic Amigas from Commodore that is like A500 and A1200 etc etc.

In the next 12-24 months I am going to stop working (not even 40 yet before you ask) for health reasons and because I worked bloody hard and my property assets are more than any pension would ever provide me.

Me? One thing I want to do is learn 68000 assembler properly and start trying to write demo quality code by hitting the hardware hard and seeing what cool bugs can be utilised :)

What would you do with all that spare time if you finished your last day of work this Friday?

so yeah also am restoring a honda motorbike its simple single cylider desing so not diffcult at all . run a bbs also , go help my mum go for walks etc.
but its your life buddy just fill way you enjoy make most of the sitwation you in

Retirement terrifies me. I think the boredom would drive me mental in the brainbox.

Don't worry, by the time we should be retiring, it won't be an option. We'll be compulsorily euthanised by the state who will in turn us into food wafers for the remaining population after even intensive farming fails to provide enough food resource...

However, unlike the 1970's depiction of this, Soylent will be available in a range of flavours!

I always found the desoldering to be more of a pain.  A 12watt Weller is also my iron of choice for most things, when I can get away with it.

I have been more or less retired for the last couple of years, and you know what I've done with my Amiga?
Bugger all!
When I retire for good, I'll probably have to hock my miggies for pill money.

Assuming I was still ok healthwise, I would probably have more time to enjoy using my Amiga systems.  For the last few years, I have concentrated my spare time on my OS4 PPC system, shovelling snow in the winter, mowing the lawn in summer, and a few other unrelated hobbies. ;)

Surely if religion is a lie, then death is less terrifying? With no worries about where you're going when you die and whether or not you'll suffer unimaginable torture in the afterlife, you're free to just get on with you life.

Of course, the lack of an afterlife kind of puts the pressure on to do something significant with your life now. Which kind of sucks when you can't think of anything.
