I find it hard to get excited by such an arbitrary milestone. So, somebody tell me why I should stay up until midnight and "celebrate".

I can't give you any reason to stay up moto. In fact, after the clock strikes 12 there is just a feeling of "Now what??" :lol:

The party supply, alcohol, and tv industries, really want you to celebrate. You don't want to let them down do you?

The rest of us don't mind if you get to bed early. I'll be asleep by 11 most likely. I'll leave the tv on so the dog, and the tv people don't get lonely.

When I was younger New Celebrations started on Boxing Day and went on till the 4th or 5th of January... these days I don't even hear the bells. I'll most likely be on here gibbering keech with my miggie beside me writing some obscure bit of 68k code... :)

I agree 2011 is fantastic, it's almost out of a '50s movie.  Flying cars and everything.  Mind you by the time it reaches the Yanks it'll probably be shi'ite....
