Faces of Amiga.org submissions
« on: December 11, 2003, 07:24:27 PM »
Effective immediately, I can no longer accept submissions for Faces of Amiga.org. This is because my NTL subscription is being suspended until I can pay them the money I owe.

The page itself should still be accessible, but you won't be able to submit them anymore because my internet access will be cut off and the upload server is just the Compaq I have running at home.

Sorry about this, it should be a month or two before I can pay them off. In the meantime, remember to love one another!

Peace :-)

@lorddef

I would take you up on that offer but I don't think I'll be able to FTP the files to my webspace anyway. Thanks though :-)

The guy on the phone sounded quite apologetic and said it would maybe be a day or two, but I've shut it down now so that I can explain properly why it's happened and stuff.

This also means mpunk3.org is down for those of you that found that site interesting.

Hey Punk,

I know this MAY sound a little too obvious, but why not have Kees build a new category for Images here at Amiga.org then have everyone upload here.  Then everything would be fully automatic, keyed to their account, and best of all, free... :-)

We DO have an image gallery, remember?

Hi Wayne,

I kind of got the feeling Kees didn't really want to do that when I first brought the idea for Faces up. I dunno...

There's also the issue of whether the Photo Album's interface is really suitable for that kind of thing. But I do see the advantages of your suggestion. It's down to Kees, really, I've PMed him about the situation.

Cheers,

Dude... "bamf"?!

Am *I* like the ONLY X-Men fan around here??? Nightcrawler!!!! He *bamfs*. Whenever he teleports, it sucks the air around him in to an extra-dimensional space, releasing residues of sulphur and brimstone in the process. Hence, the sound his power makes, when he teleports is *BAMF*

Sheesh.... you people need to read comic books more....  :-?  :-?

@tpg,

I don't know when this all started, so I don't remember all the details.  Kees approached me at one point about going to a hell of a lot of work setting up hosting and all kinds of programming for it.  I don't think ANYONE ever thought about the already existing image gallery.

I actually think it would work rather well.
