Configuring CSA Derringer 68030 board
« on: December 26, 2010, 06:21:29 PM »
I have a CSA Derringer 68030 33Mhz cpu board with 4 meg of EDO ram installed in my A2000HD and can't get the 4meg to show. I've tried running the commands in the owners manual on the CLI and get errors that the command don't  exist. Anoyone has a better way to configure this?

 Thanks,
 Jim

Naturally the commands do not exist in the system if anybody hasn't put them into it - they are not part of the OS. You have to use the install disk, for instance

What zipper said, the ram is not autoconfigured, you end up calling a small utility from the startup sequence(its on the install disk he lists) to activate the ram.. it can also remap the rom to fast .. The csa derringer can take a 32MB sill also...these are dirt cheap(less than $10?),you mine as well max it out.

There seems to be 5 CSA specific programs/commands  on the disk I checked.

I copied the files over to WB and created a CSA folder as the instructions say. Running the 68030 and the MMU tests worked. Maybe something specific needs to go into Startup-Sequence directory or something?

Read the manual again - for best results D3 should be put into your startup-sequence and configured.

I think you mean D3 goes in C: and is called from the startup sequence,at least if memory serves..

Of course, I was too vague. But the manual explains everything.
