What are ELBOX upto these days?
« on: December 23, 2010, 06:23:44 PM »
As the title says, does anyone know what they are doing these days? Do they still manufacture their current range or is everything out there being sold by the likes of Amigakit just remaining stock? Are they developing anything new, or have they pretty much stopped?

Cheers

There's no recent news on their web site:

http://www.elbox.com/news_arch.html

So I assume they're selling off their old stock.

There was the GVP ressurection last year bu not sure if they are still producing. Apart from that, I think it's just small projects by individuals.

I think ZorRam was a product designed by both Michael Boehmer and Jens Schoenfeld. Deneb is still on sale and actively maintained.

I forgot about Michael Boehmer. From a post I read a couple of weeks back I got the impression that the DENEB stock was low and that once it's gone, it's gone. So I just bought one instead of doing my usual of putting it off until it's unavailable.

Elbox are still active, there are lots of software/firmware updates recently for Mediator and this month we have received new MKII A4000 Mediator from them.

ZorRAM is an AmigaKit branded product as it was commissioned by us and Individual Computers/E3B provided design and manufacture.

Good to know they're still active in the community and manufacturing new hardware :)

I think they are still producing some kit.

For example you can pre order the Mirage Pro A4000 Tower, this has a 1 month wait - so this must be produced to order.

Would love one for my A4000 project but its silly money :(

They also recently updated all their drivers for the Mediator range for example you can now add Radeon Memory to A1200T as Fast Ram.

Steve.

Amigakit should produce a tower for the A4000D. I have e-mailed them on more than one occasion suggesting it, but it has not happened yet. :(

Does NatAmi count? ;)
I mean, in theory, they could release the FPGA processor they are making on a classic processor card. would certainly help them raise some capital.

I don't want to wait 8 years for them to make  processor card, when Jens has just produced the ACA cards.

Based on my own purchases E3B, AmigaKit, Jens Schoenfeld and Elbox are all still active and producing and/or updating their products and plan to release new products.  I have a Mediator 4000 MK2 (it's labeled differently both on the box and circuit board, for example).

The GVP stuff is available (from the new production run).  I got one of the newly produced GVP Spectrum graphic cards last year.  Although I think some of that new stock is sold out now.

Similar experience to me, got a mediator 4000 through Amigakit in December, a GVP 4060 in January and today received direct from Elbox a Radeon 9200 5 volt version for the mediator...busy weekend ahead :)
