Or a bullet through a cirrhotic liver or a fat-lined artery?

Maybe the fat would deflect the bullet slightly, thus preventing an arterial rupture?

Sounds a bit OCD. I mean CDO, the letters have to be in ascending order, after all...

Yep, very much OCD. People at work laugh at the way everything on my desk is parallel, and how I can't touch taps :-/

Hmm maybe. However, surely the impact would cause some of the fat deposit to become dislodged, resulting either in a heart attack, a stroke, or a fatal embolism in some other part of the body. Either way, a glorious death is inevitable!

What would you do if confronted with a curved desk? I had one of those in a previous job, it was highly asymmetric.

I think the poll is fairly conclusive so far; most people would seem to prefer theirs not stiffened to the point of brittleness by the repeated soaking up of unwanted seed and being left to dry.

Actually my current employer is very understanding and wouldn't dream of imposing such asymmetry on me! I did once have to ask my boss to cover up a velvet scarf she had on her desk as the texture was a bit disturbing...

How so?

I'm averse to a multitude of textures, and seeing things made of materials of those textures reminds me of what the texture feels like, and it's almost as bad as actually touching the object.

I once had to hide a lamp under a chair and cover it with a shirt because it had a velvet shade. However, I also had to put shoes on the edges and sleeves of the shirt so it wouldn't touch the shade, as even the thought of the shirt touching the velvet made me uncomfortable. Even writing about it now is making me feel rather unwell!

I know I'll probably be nailed to a board for heresy...but the only part of my anatomy that has ever been adorned by a sock is my feet...

/me runs...
