How so?
I'm averse to a multitude of textures, and seeing things made of materials of those textures reminds me of what the texture feels like, and it's almost as bad as actually touching the object.
I once had to hide a lamp under a chair and cover it with a shirt because it had a velvet shade. However, I also had to put shoes on the edges and sleeves of the shirt so it wouldn't touch the shade, as even the thought of the shirt touching the velvet made me uncomfortable. Even writing about it now is making me feel rather unwell!
