Please read at least the first part of this interview, as it explains how BOH was born (and partly, also some of my feelings). The rest is just a natural consequence.
Anyway, the chain of events goes like this:
 1. I had a vision.
 2. I decided to make an experiment.
 3. I did the experiment on AmigaOS 4 because that's the OS I use.
 4. I liked the experiment and it grew into a game.
 5. At some point, I realized the game had commercial potential, so I thought it would be nice to give Amiga users a new, professionally produced game; to make it feasible, I also made the Windows version (which was rather easy, given that I based all of the work on a framework of mine which I've been developing for years).
 6. I released the game.
 7. Since I'm unemployed, I decided to port to game also to more commercially interesting platforms (MacOS and Linux) to earn some more money.
 8. Upon request and to make more Amiga users happy, I eventually gave in to the temptation of making the AROS port (and this taught me a lesson, as explained in a previous post).

Now I'm at a point where I can't make another port, regardless of how nice that would be (I've explained the reasons, so I won't repeat myself here).
That's all there is to it.

well, I appreciate you making a linux port :)

@J-Golden

Indeed others mentioned BOFH, but I didn't even know it existed!

You'll have to wait I while I think - I'm not very quick in this game :)

No problem. Anyway, just as a clarification, you're not obliged to send all the records in one go - you can just leave the option on and let the game send the new ones after each gaming session.

Can you guys break down for me precisely what the objective of BOH is?  I've never actually played it, but hear glowing reports from those that have.

Why not play the demo? :) I think it kind of feels like Doom in 2D. You run around mazes filled with traps, monsters, doors, keys, weapons etc, trying to get to the end of the level and beat the boss.

Edit - here's the overview from the web site:
Quote
BOH is a unique retro-flavoured puzzle-riddled maze game spiced up with thrilling action.
You move in claustrophobic, mysterious, dangerous battlefields searching for the Evil Masters, who throw countless enemies at you until you discover and face them in the final battle. Although your quests are made slightly less hard by the power-ups scattered all around, carrying out the missions demands lots of concentration and quick reflexes.

With BOH the fun never ends: new missions can be added anytime and you can even create your own! And, as if that was not enough, you can also customize entirely its audio-visual aspect!

BOH has been created with lots of passion and care to offer, with its oldschool style, a fascinatingly different videogaming experience.

Your name will pop up regardless of the actual time records: there is no threshold in order to "qualify" ;)

motorollin gave you a good quick summary. However, words are sort of ineffective (in fact, I have changed the website introduction quite a number of times), so I second motorollin's advice regarding the demo ;) - I can only add that getting the real "feel" of the game takes some time and determination, as the initial tutorial missions might be quite boring (but they are necessary to face the real missions, which are what gives a good idea of the game).

Well, seriously, if you don't fancy the idea, no problem: you're of course free of keeping your records for yourself :)

I'll have to give it a spin. Are all the supported platform versions identical? I have OS4, AROS and Linux :)

That's not a problem. Fallout3 requires you to be born, be a toddler, a 10 year old kid and a teenager before you even get to escape to the outside world :D

Yes. On Linux you have to make sure you have the required libraries installed, though.

if you like classic 'top down' dungeon crawlers then you'll love BOH:afro:
the goal basically is to finish the level by finding the 'evil master' i.e Boss and destroying him while trying to find keys for closed doors, extra weapons, power ups, figure out mazes & time warps, oh & I almost forgot you have to do this while being attacked by an army of bad guys trying to kill you every second:)...my type of fun:roflmao:

basically try the free demo and you'll tell right away if it's your type of game !
