Compact Flash to IDE adapter with female CF connector??
« on: December 09, 2003, 11:03:11 PM »
I've posted this previously but I think I messed up the idea.
I've searched hard and couldn't find anything. I want an IDE to Compact Falsh card adatper but with a female CF connector. The idea is to connect a small ide HD  to a device that uses CF cards. I know about the external power that I'd require, but my concern now is findind an adapter with a female connector.
Or maybe an extension cable with female on both ends...
Think u get the idea...so if u know or seen anything like that just say something...
Cheers

Better break out the soldering iron! I don't *think* such a device exists, sadly.

I guess it will have to be... but still where do I get the female connector? I was thinking about getting one of those very old CF cards and strip it out but the connector is tiny I bet it's no an easy task....

u can buy ones that go directly onto a motherboard

they'd have the same pins as a cable,

that's what you want

but they're about £20
 unlike the cheapy ebay ones
A1200 in original casing
Internal
4.3gb hard drive // 24x cdrom // clock port Hypercom1 // floppy drive
External
3 floppy drives, and a 3 Com Etherlink 3 PCMCIA Ethernet Card

The recepticle is available from Molex PDF here.  Search for 67003-0000/67003-0001 for more info.

Good luck, that thing is small!   :-o

Edit: fix URL.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(
