Cyberstorm MK II problem in Amiga 3000T
« on: November 28, 2010, 11:43:19 AM »
I have an Amiga 3000T-040 comuter (extremely rare version of the Amiga 3000T).  Anyway, the computer works fine with the original Commodore 040 board, but, will not work with the Cyberstorm MK II 060 board.  I read that there is a missing signal on the Amiga 3000's processor slot.  Could this be the problem?  I pulled the Cyberstorm MK II 060 board out of a working Amiga 4000 Toaster system, it had a SCSI module plugged in.  I removed it and put it back into its original box for safe keeping ( the A3000T already has SCSI ).

Did you set the clock jumpers on the motherboard to internal?  CSMKII doesn't work with the external clock settings the 3640 uses.

How do you do that?  The Amiga 3000T manual does not say anything about the jumpers.  So, I guess I need to know the jumper numbers and how to plug in the jumpers.  Thanks for any help.    :)

Still does not work.  I am going to re-install the original Commodore 040 board and be done with it.  I have also had problems with my Cybervision 64/3D card.  So far, I am not impressed with products made by phase 5.  Nothing but problems with phase 5 products thru the years.    :(

I had problems with my MK II in one of my A3000T's but I think it had to do with my SCSI messing up.  The internal SCSI worked fine with the A3640 but had problems with the MK II installed.  I tried using a seperate SCSI board in a zorro slot and still had problems.

I have a MKII card in my 3000T and it works fine.  (I also have the 040 version as my MB does not have a 030 onboard)

Make sure you have the jumpers correctly.  Reseat the card, the CPU slot can be finicky.

I don't have or ever owned a 3000T, but I do have a 3000T motherboard if it turns out you need/want it.  Let me know.

A4000 and some A3000T models have an interrupt line called _INT2 on the CPU (FAST) slot. On the A3000, this slot is CN606 and the line is on pin 82. However, this pin was not connected in the A3000D, causing PPC and other 68k CPU boards which use this line to not function correctly.
Most CPU boards which have onboard SCSI, will require this modification.

Dont know if this works but its better then nothing i gues :)

Edit: Had to do this on my 3000D to get my Cyberstorm PPC working corectly.

I still can not get this to work.  There is nothing wrong with the Amiga 3000T because it works fine with the original Commodore 040 board.  There is nothing wrong with the 060 board, it was removed from a working Amiga 4000.  I really would like to get this Amiga 3000T up and running with this Phase 5 CS MK II 060 board.

Yes. and Super Buster 11, and WDC 08, and the rare DMAC and Ramsey chips.

Check what happens when Ramsey and DMAC are reverted to original revisions. Disconnect everything from your A3Kt scsi bus and try. If you have the CSMK2 SCSI kit attached, disconnect that too.

Check the serial # of your CSMKII and look up on amiga.resource.cx if it is one of the serial numbers from the bad batch produced.
