Unanswered Questions...

Does anyone remember a kids TV program from around the early 70's (think it ran well into the 80's too) on the BBC during the school summer holidays.

It was called...

Why Don't You Just Switch Off your Television Set And Go And Do Something Less Boring Instead ?

The reason I ask is, whenever the program started my mum used to say "exactly" then switch the telly off and send me outside to play, so I never got to watch it or find out what it was all about...

Just wondering if anyone actually watched it and could tell me what it was about, or did I just imagine it all... :)

Bring back "Watch With Mother", it's a theory of mine that since they stopped "Watch With Mother" and "It's A Knockout" that the world and the younger generations has become more violent... :(

I mean back then we didn't have Chavs, Neds or Hoodies, this I believe was due to the fact we were brought up with nice timid things like "Mr Ben", "Mary, Mungo & Midge" "Pogles Wood" & "Andy Pandy"... :)

And all those wars that spilt eastern european countries were fought out insted on the hilarious battlefield of "It's A Knockout" instead...  :)

Hmmm... need to sit down and write a paper on this one...
