What can't you do on a properly upgraded/expanded 68K Amiga that you really want or need to do?

If I give examples A and B, I am fairly sure I'll end up getting someone telling me that I don't need to do example A and someone else failing to understand why anybody would want to do example B :)

No, no, this is a friendly thread.  Please tell -- unless A or B is playing Call of Duty.

Ditto. Talking about a nice, efficient and current browser here.

Yup, easy use of the internet and creating 'Doomy' videos that's about it... :)

(perhaps the 'Doomy' videos thing is a positive though... )

Really it pretty much just comes down to a few specific x86 applications (Photoshop, Flash, and various PC-native games) and a more modern web browser. Though I'd probably need a somewhat more upgraded Amiga than my current setup to run a newer browser, and definitely to run the various emulators I use.
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/MT-32/D-10, Oberheim Matrix-6, Yamaha DX7/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini, Ensoniq Mirage/SQ-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, Hohner String Performer

@ commodorejohn

But an x86 is not a Classic Amiga and who need PhotoShop when we have ImageFX... :)

However there is one thing you CAN do on the Amiga that you can't do on most other computers... ;)

That is, spend a fortune on old hardware that no-one outside the Amiga community would even dare think of doing...

Emulation.
8 -> 32bit computers, handhelds and consoles.

I know a PPC equiped Amiga can just about do passable emulation of the C64 but what about CPS2, NeoGeo etc?

Honestly, these are the things that would TOTALLY bring me back to AmigaOS exclusively - and that a Classic Amiga currently can't do:

- full use of the internet including YouTube, and banking sites (would need to work with web-mail security encryption, and bank website encryption).  It would also need to render modern websites properly.

- Full audio multitracking - I know Audio Evolution is capable of this....but right now you need a very hard to find classic PPC accelerator to actually use it with any functionality.

- Non-linear video editing - Sony Vegas style.

Once a "new Amiga" comes out that can handle all of these things (and this would also mean some new Amiga software in the first and last cases) then I'd ditch other operating systems.  So I guess this isn't a classic Amiga anymore.

Classic Amiga systems still do a great job with MIDI recording, desktop publishing and graphics (even if they are a tad bit slow for the latter two).
Music I've made using Amigas and other retro-instruments: http://theovoids.bandcamp.com

On my Blizzard060/PPC, you can emulate the C64 at full fps & fullscreen gfx using a PPC version of Frodo... :)
