Blitzkick for PC BIOS... confused?
« on: December 07, 2003, 01:47:42 PM »
Many years ago (2 to be accurate) I had a Program that allowed me to load a BIOS image into RAM, then reboot the PC and it would boot from the BIOS image.

But I have lost it now :-o :boohoo:

Does anyone know where I can find it?

Not exactly BIOS, but Kickstart image. But if you absolutely need to find analogy from PC side, then I suppose BIOS is the closest. :-)

[Edit: Oops. Somehow my brain skipped the word PC in the body of the msg.]

I recall, it has something to do with “shadowing” a PC BIOS from physical media (e.g. disk). Such hacks maybe useful in testing “Uber-BIOS” (i.e. patched BIOS image for extreme over clocking)…
Amiga 1200 PiStorm32-Emu68-RPI 4B 4GB.
Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB, RTX 4080 16 GB PC.

I want to do it so I can test a BIOS before I flash the chip.

Such issue didn’t occur with my setup since my system has dual BIOS feature. But I guess it would be useful for my ASUS motherboards... Maybe I'll search for the said hack...

I don't know if this will help but there are some interesting bios utilities on this site:

Hmmm, yes, I wish all MOBOs had Dual BIOS chips... But thanks, the more people looking for this thing the better chance I have to finding it.
