I can't go past a few all-time classics:
Need for Speed 1&2 spent - plenty of hours on that
Baldurs gate series - so much depth and replayability
Mechwarrior mercenaries - just cool
Speedball2 - great in multiplayer
Mega lo Mania - We've nuked them!
AD&D Goldbox series and Buck Rogers too
The Cinemaware series (old one)
Hidden and Dangerous - good atmosphere, but lousy multiplayer
Battlefield 1942 - good multiplayer, but no atmosphere
Return to Zork
Kings Quest 3, Police Quest 1 - Like the non-linear gameplay
Monkey Island 1, 2 & 3
Ghengis Khan 1
Panzer General 3D and Scorched Earth
Their Finest Hour
European Air War

There are a few more addictive titles, but someone else will put them in.

Hmm. In no particular order...

La-Mulana (PC) - Excellent freeware Metroidvania game, in the style of old MSX titles. Terrific soundtrack.
Super Metroid (SNES) - Pretty much the series zenith, and a defining moment for the genre.
Descent (PC) - The 6DOF shooter. Utterly kickass soundtrack, to boot.
Lemmings (Amiga) - Often imitated, never duplicated. I've been playing this one for fifteen years and it still hasn't gotten old.
Defender Of The Crown (Amiga) - All the Cinemaware games were great, but this one is my particular favorite.
Akumajou Densetsu (NES) - a.k.a. the un-butchered version of Castlevania III. Another great game with a great soundtrack.
River City Ransom (NES) - Hands-down the best brawler I've ever played.
Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/MT-32/D-10, Oberheim Matrix-6, Yamaha DX7/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini, Ensoniq Mirage/SQ-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, Hohner String Performer

Just 10 ?

In no particular order of importance:

The Alien Breed Series (amiga)
Turrican series (amiga ones anyways)
UFO enemy unknown / XCOM ufo defense
Steel Panthers (the remakes from Shrapnel games in particular)
Unreal Tournament (especially the first one)
Doom
Civilization 1 and 2 (as well as freeciv)
Baldurs Gate
Battle for Wesnoth
Metal Gear Solid (2 in particular)
Silent Hill (2 in particular)

Those are ones that stick out, but there's so many great games.

In no particular order....

Curse Of Monkey Island (technically PC, but I played it on os3.9 via scummvm)
R-Type 1 (arcade, but amiga version is a pretty decent conversion)
Resident Evil series (in order of favorites it would go 2,4,3,5,1(although I enjoy them all))
Max Payne (PC version is head and shoulders above console versions and I like no.2 more than no.1, even if they were similar)
Mass Effect 1 (only bought it a few weeks ago and am very much enjoying it)
Doom2 (still the best fps game around for pure playability in my opinion)
Robocod AGA (I actually played it to death in ECS form before it was released for AGA, but the AGA version is a little slicker/smoother/prettier)
Addams Family (massively under rated Mario clone in my opinion and next to Robocod my favorite side scrolling platformer for Amiga)
Rainbow Islands (I actually finished it on amiga without any cheats, but didnt collect all diamonds in order for all levels (which you'll know is necessary to if youve played it much)).
Alan Wake  (I really enjoyed this one. A showcase of how technology can be used to create gaming experiences that werent possible before and a darn enjoyable game in it's own right).
Mafia  (a far better game than the GTA games of it's era and I look forward to playing the sequel).
Deus EX  (amazing game, one that put my life on hold for it's duration).
Street Fighter 2/3/alpha games (despite them all being a little different, the basic gameplay mechanics are pretty similar and between the lot I spent a heck of a lot of money at my local pinnie parlors. Number 4 is quite good too, but for my tastes not quite as good as 2/3/alpha series).
Creatures2 (quite possibly the best c64 game made, fantastically playable, and who doesnt enjoy seeing cute fuzzies cut up with chainsaws ?)
Wonderboy (although it doesnt usually spring to mind straight away for me when thinking of favorite games it definately deserves to be here. I spent countless hours playing this on both Sega Master system and C64 (tidbit for those interested, but its impossible to complete on the c64,... after a while the levels start to get generated randomly, sometimes to a point that things obstruct any possible further progress)).

Im sure there's plenty of others that Ive inadvertantly missed, but right now these are the ones that came to mind. I must admit Im surprised at how many "modern" games I've listed. I've always considered myself to be more of a retro game fan, but reading back my list it appears Im an equal opportunity gamer  :-)
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

TBH I think the true follow up to Doom considering onslaught is Serious Sam. Which is even better IMHO.

Well really I consider Doom and Doom2 to be the same thing. Only reason I say Doom2 is 'cos I really like the double barrell shotgun, which isnt in Doom  :-)
