Compact Flash and IDEFIX'97
« on: October 27, 2010, 02:24:57 AM »
Hey guys..

I got an issue with my compact flash from Amigakit and IDEFIX'97. I'm getting low transfer speeds with the CF adaptor (about 1.2Mb/s) and someone suggested using IDEFIX + Doobrey's scsi.device patches. I tried to install IDEFIX and it Guru's. I figure it must be my USB stick, so I remove that and IDEFIX installs without a hitch. Now after installing if I try to run IDEFIX it locks up the machine (a1200). Any suggestions?

I seem to recall there being a bug in the max-transfer settings that affects some versions of SCSI.device.  I don't remember what it's supposed to be set at though.  It is a setting you put in HDToolbox though and it fixes it.

I don't think I saw much faster than 1.xMB per second on my 1200 w/1260 using the motherboard IDE.  Maybe I was just doing something wrong, or maybe I'm just not remembering correctly.

Hmm.. apparently Doobrey has fixed/patched scsi.device to make it go 3.x mB/s
