I'm guessing $500-600. You can buy a new, complete Sam440ep-flex system for ~$800, and the Sam460ep should be available soon. Folks will be looking for a bargain--something less expensive than a newer, better product, anyway--and they won't place much value on things they likely have sitting around their workspace (HDD, DVD+/-RW, chasis, etc.). With $500, you can build a nice i7 system. I think I spent ~$600 for my base kit (Core i7 920, ASUS P6T Deluxe, 6 GB DDR3) in 2009, and prices have come down considerably. (A good video card will be the system's most expensive component. I limit set my budget at $250, so I just bought an overclocked GeForce GTX 460.)

As with OEM copies of Windows on a PC, you're probably required to sell OS4 with the Sam440ep, regardless of your intent. Be sure to use Hyperion's transfer of ownership web app thingy after you sell it.

$547.18
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

Sorry, it was my attempt at a humor  :) The whole being overly specific type thing. Sorry, it seemed worth the effort at the time :)

I have a 1200 tower too.  So you like it better than your SAM?  Is SAM and OS4 not quite so exciting/useful as you envisioned?  I'd honestly like to know. Pros and cons of SAM/OS4 in your opinion?

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in this economic climate (Plus cheap and faster Apple hardware available for MOS2.6) I doubt you'll find many takers.

I'll give you a fiver for it.

Pros over a classic system is that you do not need to add 100 patches to get an improved WB.

Your WB was still not improved after 99 patches? :)

But seriously, it's significant that a SAM owner wants to keep his A1200 tower but sell the SAM.  There must be some level of dissatisfaction with SAM and/or OS4.  They're supposed to be gaining OS4 users (even at a very modest level), not losing them.

It's not surprising though. Classic systems are fun and filled with nostalgia. "Modern" systems are plagued by infighting, pale in comparison to other modern solutions, and are different enough from classic systems that they're uncomfortable to use (in the same sense that it's uncomfortable to sit in the same room with several of your ex-girlfriends--unless you're still friendly with all of them, of course).

@Trev
Sound like you and some others certainly don't agree with the very good review given to OS4.1 by ars technica.  I remember being pretty psyched up about OS4 after reading it.
