A 1000 Keyboard/adapter question
« on: September 30, 2010, 03:18:32 AM »
I just bought an Amiga keyboard off of Ebay, thinking that it would work with my A1000 (because the listing stated that it did), but it doesn't. It appears it is a later model Amiga keyboard. Does anyone know if there is any kind of adapter or something I can find to get this keyboard to work with the A1000?

Thanks!

I don't think an adapter was ever made commercially. It should be possible to make your own...
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

I purchased a couple of them some years ago. I'm not sure if they were made commercially, but they look fairly professional.
Message me if you are interested in one.

What keyboard is it? A4000 with the small DIN plug? I've never seen an adapter for that one before, but as someone else pointed out - shouldn't be too difficult to hack your own. There *were* adapters made commercially for the A1000 to use A2000 and A3000 keyboards though. I had one once upon a time. I seem to remember Redmond Cable & Micro R&D selling 'em.

I think DKB made a adapter for the 2000kbd--->A1000 ,in the case of a A4000 kbd you would need the dkb and a ps2 adapter, but finding these a1000 adapters is probabaly near impossible. the good news is the A4000 kbd will work fine on the 1000 is you don't mind a bit of soldering/rewiring. the pinouts are online.

Hello Wildstar.... Hmmm.... sounds eerie that someone is using the handle I use in the demo / game work.

Anyway..... Just to make it clear, I'm the Wildstar from Astoria, Oregon.
