Wordworth 7

I have just installed wordworth 7 on my Amiga 4.1 OS samflex 440ep and all I get is the grim reaper Guru Meditation: 80000003 Task 0x57110ddf0 ("")Can I use this program or is for the A1200 only.

I was having a play around with Wordworth 7 on my OS4.1 machine and had the same problem. Go into the icons properties and change it to 'Workbench' for the start from option under the icon tab. For me it was set to Arexx I think and making that change fixed the problem you are describing (for me anyway).

Also make sure the tooltype PICASSO=TRUE is set. This makes less assumptions about the gfx. It should probably be called RTG instead of PICASSO.

In the icon properties window, there should be two tabs. One for the icon and one for the file. Select the icon properties tab.

There should be a text area with the label "tooltypes:". If there is no entry for PICASSO in that list, then type it in, exactly as specified above.

If there is but it is set to something other than true, change it to true. If the entry has brackets around it, remove the brackets as putting any tooltype item in brackets basically removes it from the list as far as the system is concerned.

Once you've added/edited (as required) this tooltype, click save.

Have you tried matthey's suggestion above?

If nothing else works, you might try disabling JIT support for this application via prefs/compatibility. Adding an application to the JIT blacklist should be a last resort though as it isn't often required and performance will suffer noticeably.

There is no tooltype called RTG. I was just saying that the name RTG would have been clearer than PICASSO. You did do what was suggested which was to change the commented (PICASSO=TRUE) to PICASSO=TRUE. I would leave it like that as you are less likely to have problems but it did NOT fix your problem.

Whatever he is doing, it should not be JIT that causes the problem. On both OS4.1u2 machines here (PegasosII, SAM440ep) Wordworth 7.01 works perfectly with full JIT-emulation.

I would look with Snoopy if something's missing from installation (fonts, libs, envarc entries...).

I'd recommend using Snoopy (LOL) and getting the 7.01 update. (on Aminet, methinks). Yea, Wordworth can be weird to install.....

I take it you have a fresh install of Wordworth7 ? I've found that missing fonts on startup can cause similar symptoms.....
